So convenient and easy and the finches love them.
I live in an apartment and these are working perfect for the front of my outside area. I have had so many finches including three little yellow finches. I’m thrilled.

Best feeders for finches.
I have used these socks for quite soe time now and they work so well that I will continue to order them when needed - and that's not very often!

Not for Thistle use...
My wife and I filled 5 bags with thistle yesterday. This morning we noticed the bags were only half full. Then, we noticed the ground was covered with thistle. The holes in the bags are so big that the thistle falls out especially when the birds are eating.I included a photo of the bag along side an empty bag my wife bought that came full of thistle. And a picture of the ground under the thistle bags.Save your money. You're better off buying prefilled bags and reusing them.

Only 3 stars as a thistle feeder...but
...5 stars to hold Irish Spring soap to keep the deer at bay. I did try these as a feeder, but a lot of the seed falls to the ground. Any sock feeder with good thistle seed will attract finches and other small birds. I would find another brand with smaller holes because thistle seed is pricey. These are perfect for holding that stinky soap. I put these little green soldiers all over the yard to protect newer shrubs from deer browsing. I do have to keep buying more because the raccoons think they are great fun.

Finches enjoy
The finches really like these bags and the finch seed I put in it. Now I get to watch goldfinch fights. The cutest is when a pair shows up, presumably a mating pair, and eat together. Other birds don't show much interest in the bags, maybe they can't hang on as well or get their beaks through the holes. I tried washing a bag but I think I will treat them as disposable going forward.

UNTOUCHED BY ANY BIRD
I BOUGHT THE THISTLE SEED FOR GOLDFINCH BUT GUESS THERE ARE NO GOLDFINCH. DISAPPOINTED. ARE THEY NOT ATTRACTED TO THE BLACK SOCK?

Good quality seed sock
Good seed socks. I've got goldfinches here once again. Some seed falls though, but that makes my other ground-feeding birds very happy. Gambel's quail appreciate it.
