Q: how do you recharge the battery, is it a USB lead?, and what does it mean by "you have to prepare the battery" thanks

The battery comes with about 1/3 storage charge. Charges from usb. Although I have seen an earlier version with a plug in charger.

Q: Is this the correct kit to power the Technic Defender ?

It depends which modification instructions you follow. The ones I've seen use the later Powered Up components say from the 42099 kit. These are the earlier Power Functions units. They will work, but you may need to modify the modifications slightly. It's on my list to try!

Q: Will it work without app?

Yes it does, we only use the remote

Q: Will this work with Technics 42115 if not which kit do I need

Google is your friend. In truth you could probably mod it in, but there are plenty of YouTube view of that green lambo being motorized.
