Very good question. We ONLY buy from mines that follow the Labor Guide instructed by the Uruguayan government. You can check here a copy of the labor guide : https://www.uruguayxxi.gub.uy/guide/descargas/Labor%20Guide.pdf Also, keep in mind that In 2019, Transparency International ranked Uruguay as the most transparent country in Latin America and the Caribbean which means that when we receive the Certificate of Origin of the stones saying that the stones shipped are from Uruguay it also saying that the goverment has checked and accepted that the mine is working within the Labor Guide. How many inches tall and wide?

Hello Tess. All the rocks have different shape and forms. These are cut from larger rock formations. Normally they have the crystals on one side and the basaltic rock the piece was extracted from in the other side. Most cuts are wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, but they can have different forms. I just measured two samples of 4-5lb, and one has a 4in by 4in base and is 6 inches tall, and the other one has a 5in by 4in base, and a bit shy of 6in tall. I hope this helps.

I undestand they are real, but are they man made or discovered?

I’m not 100% sure as I am no expert. It does seem to be authentic and did come with a card it does not seem to be dyed or colored and the outer shell seems like real cut rock and not molded. Hope that helps. It looks way better than anything I have seen in a walk in store.
