Uniden BP-38 Replacement Battery for GMRS-380/2

Outstanding item.Just as advertised.

If you are looking for BP38 replacement batteries for two-way radios, make sure you are purchasing them from KastarUSA and fulfilled by Amazon. Do not be fooled by the lower price others are selling these for. I have now purchased three of them from KastarUSA and all have worked well. Unfortunately, I did purchase one from Iowa Liquidations because it was cheaper, but the battery turned out to be crap and won't even charge. I know nothing about the other sellers selling these, but I will always go with KastarUSA from now on.

Yes! It fits and works perfectly!Disliked that it came alone in a box as big as a shoe box…?? Seems like a waste of packaging.

Works as expected

Right out of the box one of our Uniden radios had a battery problem. I've gone through other companies and for my use their radios just don't compare. I contacted Uniden for a battery replacement and the time they said it was going to take plus the shipping I had to pay for imposed on the trip my wife and I were going to take and use these quading. The easier route for me was just buying a better battery, using Prime shipping and moving on. Not sure if Uniden knows they are selling crap batteries with their radios but both of these I bought have worked fantastic.I now have one original battery that still works great that I take along as a spare in case one radio does happen to run out of juice.

My story begins 3 weeks ago when I discovered in the back of my parts closet two Uniden radios. Both batteries would not hold a charge when sitting on the charger overnight, so I knew it was time for new batteries. After doing some searching, it seemed like the two pack of the BP-38 batteries at 1000mAh would be a good value, so I ordered them. Both batteries were a dud upon arrival. I initially thought it was because the charger could only handle the 700mAh, so I returned them (Kudo's to Amazon for the excellent return process, had my money back that afternoon).I did more research, and found the exact battery that originally came with the radio, right down to the markings and 700mAh rating. It didn't come as a two pack, so I ordered two of them. What I got was ANOTHER 1000 mAh battery just like the original one I ordered. This time one of the batteries actually charges, but the other one does not. Because these radios also take regular AAA batteries, I'm just going to order some normal AAA rechargeable batteries and press on.Summary - Excellent return process, got the wrong product the second time, 3 of 4 batteries would not even power on.

Ordered these for replacements in our 2-way radios. They are exactly like the ones that came in the radios from the manufacturer down to the blue ribbon used to lift it out. If these last as long as the last ones did then they are a fantastic value at 1/3 of the cost at my local battery store. They arrived quickly and well package with minimal waste. I put them in the radios and charged them overnight and they are working perfectly so far. We use our radios when we are traveling, at horse shows and when camping. They get a lot of use because we are not always in a location where we can get cell coverage and the radios are the next best thing.

This was the first attempt to get replacement battery packs for my Cobra FRS80 radio. The BP38 pack does not fit properly and was easily returned, if you have the same radio use the FRS315 Pack, same seller and they fit correctly.
