This is a Hot oven thermometer
I bought this to test the temps in my oven as I just had it repaired. This gauge and my oven are exactly on the same page. They Both measure the same. I did a few tests over a couple weeks and every time the gauge was the same as the oven. A reliable, sturdy, EZ to read and to use tool for the kitchen. I would recommend this product

When You Open the Oven Door, You Can Actually See the Numbers !
When you use an oven thermometer, do you want to actually see the the oven temperature? Of course you do! Otherwise you wouldn't bother to purchase an oven thermometer. This thermometer is large enough, and the numbers are large enough to read the oven temp. No guesswork here! Very helpful and convenient to have.

Great thermometer
I found out my 45 year old oven is still accurate. Set it to 450 and in 40 minutes, bingo, 450 degrees! My old thermometer was 5 degrees off. Easy to read. Great buy!

Hard to read dial due to large needle
I know this has very large numbers on the dial to make it easy to read through a glass door. But, those numbers are in gradations of 50 F. There are 10 marked divisions between each number, indicating 5 degree gradations. However, the needle is so big that it is at best possible to read the temperature to within 15 to 20 degrees.I have another older thermometer with similar markings but with a very thin needle. This allow accurate reading of the thermometer to 5 to 10 degrees.BTW, a comment on comparing two thermometers in the oven to compare their "accuracy".I set the oven temps from 250 to 500 F at 50 F intervals, giving the oven 15 minutes to warm up for each setting. The readings mostly were very close but occasionally differed by 10 or more degrees. However, when I let the oven cool from 450 down to 240, checking the readings every 15 minutes, the thermometers gave essentially identical readings.I interpret this to mean the thermometers were calibrated the same way, but during the heating process each thermometer had a different response rate. However, once warmed up, during cooling they behaved in a similar fashion. Another issue might have been that during heating, the red hot heater element caused some convection currents in the oven which affected the thermometers differently. I had them hung side by side in the middle of the oven, but, who knows.

Accurate temp
I bought this because I thought my oven was off. Turns out it wasn't. The thermometer temp matched what the oven was set at. So I'd say it's accurate and works well!
