The Classical Piano Method - Method Book 1: With CD of Performances and Play-Along Backing Tracks

Nice book that looks like a good teaching method, but the CD that was supposed to be included was not. Will be returning for a replacement.Update: Received the replacement, and it doesn't include the CD, either. The description and item headline are blatantly inaccurate. This book's cover does say "online material audio," but it isn't until the bottom of page 95 that you can find where and how to access the online content.Overall, it looks like a good book -- but BUYER BEWARE -- it DOES NOT INCLUDE A CD AS ADVERTISED.

A good series of three books that come complete with a CD to aid the piano student in progressing from no knowledge of the keyboard at all to playing solid beginning classical music. It includes accompanying music that backs up the students exercise in simple 4 hand arrangements.I would recommend this 3 book series for anyone who wants to progress to playing the classical and romantic repertoire. Heumann has other support books that complement this series well into intermediate pieces.

Seller sent used item when new item ordered. The book's spine is not tight. The book itself has small waves to it like it has gotten slightly damp/wet.Supposed to come with CD. CD is missing.

I love this book and plan on buying #2 and 3.

I take private piano classes, and my teacher teaches me basics on sight reading. I need to mention that I'm adult beginner. Everything my teacher showed me, if left missunderstood, I captured it from this book. Highly recommended,especially for adult beginners.

An abolutely great series to get back into playing the piano with classical pieces. The slow pace enables the learner to concentrate on getting it right..

I think this Method would be suitable for an adult beginner. However the very beginning pages are somewhat confusing and would need to be explained carefully. There's nothing incorrect, but it is not the easiest to follow. As the book progresses it settles in and I think would be appropriate in its straightforward format.

Excellent method, I just wish the CD was enhanced so I can play it on my digital piano with my students.

The 12 year old beginner I bought this for is delighted by this book. She tells me it is easy to follow and has helped her grapple with both fingering and hearing her first attempts at wonderful tunes. This 12 year old has an eclectic taste in modern music and positively beamed at the prospect of being able to hear herself play some classics. I asked her to rate the book and she said 5/5. Great buy.

recommended to me by my piano tutor, we are working through this book, and the cd provided helps with practice at home. Its been over 30 years since I read music so waiting for the cobwebs to blow off my brain but we are making good progress and I'm on lesson 9, after 3 lessons. the book simplfies alot of things which for me as a 40 yr old, very easy to understand.

It's well thought out, it's a bit too simple than I thought although I dont know how the level of the books are graded maybe book 1 is beginners book 2 intermediate and maybe book 3 is advanced or at least I hope that's how it's worked out. I do love the idea of a cd
