amazing! (but a little challenging - for me, the mom - ha)
Really brilliant! It's incredible how each letter can be made into a (super cute) animal that starts with that letter! I wasn't sure if my 3 year old would enjoy this. She does (very much so!!), but I (try to) make the animals while she watches -- and then she loves to put the eye stickers on them. Then she loves to play with the animals (making them talk to each other, etc.). She also likes to be the one to pick out which letter we use (and then we try to talk about what other words start with that letter, etc.). Some of them are really easy to make and she could (in theory - haha) help (like the letter S or the letter C). But honestly, I'm 35 and had trouble with one of them so far (R, for rabbit) - although I will admit I am terrible at following directions and doing anything like this! I think this would be a great gift for a family with multiple children --- the older kids could help make the animals for their younger siblings and then everyone play with them (or fight over them) together. :) Someone mentioned using this on an airplane ride and that sounds like a good idea (but maybe bring a ziplock bag to store the "pets" in after). It needs to be done in a place where there aren't too many distractions and you can focus. But it really is incredibly cute!!! And personally, I (the mom) had so much fun and felt so much success when I was able to make an animal. That's pretty sad, right? HA

Super Cute; great reward for phonics study
Am going through this book with my child along with the Explode the Code primer series (Get Ready/Get Set/Go For the Code). Upon finishing a letter in the ETC book, I assemble an animal for him. He thinks they are grand. They are relatively easy to assemble. The letters are pre-cut so you can punch them out. Any parts of the letter that need to be cut are pre-cut so you don't need scissors. The fold marks are marked and stickers are provided for the eyes. If you get stumped, there is a fold out page that shows how each letter should turn out. It's a great reward for mastering new letters.

Cute
A lil tricky and younger than 8yrs. will need minor help with it. Age 4 will need a lil more help along with reading instructions and pre folding/which fold to make first to last. Super cute! Much smaller than I thought, but it is about actual size of what an original size of origami is, small!:0)

Tactile and clever "origami"
Bought this for my 5-year old grandsons. Pages are punch-out 6"-7" letters which you form into an animal. Very attractive, informational, colorful and good for hand/eye. The parents loved it too, and it's given them ideas about making their own. What more could you ask?

Second the traveling usefulness of this origami
Very clever. We bought this while traveling in France with a two year old. He couldn't do any of it but WE had fun and he was fascinated and we could use the resulting animals for stories and play.

Great for homeschool/alphabet learning
We're doing a pet a day. She picks the pet/letter and that's the letter we concentrate on for the day. We're 9 days in and she's still excited every morning to get a new pet and play the "letter game".
