What’s the distance from the lower loop to the d ring connector?

From top of The lower loop to the connector is 21 inches - too long imo. I subsequently purchased a Kong brand Leash that measures 12.5 inches from top of the loop to the connector which I do like. The connector mechanism on the Kong isn’t quite as good though.
