I'm unclear about these protectant sprays. Can they be used on surfaces that get hot - Exhaust pipes, engines, mufflers?

I have used this product extensively on my water-cooled engine and have been pleased. I have used on chrome (including exhaust pipes); however, I believe it fogs up temporarily the surface so I normally wipe off with rag if overspray occurs.

What do they mean by "Black"? Are they saying the spray is black?

No, the spray is not black, it's clear. It does heighten blackened areas on the bike.

Is this safe to use on a matte finish?

I don't use this on most painted surfaces. It is mainly useful on metal surfaces that may be prone to rust. I use carnauba wax on all painted surfaces.

would this work on a Vtwin motorcycle like Harley Road King ?

I'm sure it would work on all motorcycles. I washed my bike, then used Muc off, and liked the way it works. It kept it looking good, uncovered for weeks.
