Q: can you mix with acrylic pain, or is this just a base to apply first to the canvas?

You can MIX the paste with ACRYLIC paint because it has an acrylic base, YES, but it WON'T mix with OIL paint - - You'd have to apply it to the canvas first, let it dry, THEN paint on top of it with oil paint when making an oil painting.

Q: Can this be used on skin?

Well, you don't say in what manner you intend on using this on the skin, so I'm wondering if you are considering using it in the manner of make-up...IE, building up a nose or fake lips as for a theatrical production. If that is the case, I would say, no. This is strictly an artist's medium for building impasto surfaces for art projects or other similar craft needs. c

No, but you can apply it, let it dry, and then paint over it with oils.
