Professional Emerald Finish
I snagged this on discount, and it is easily one of the best value-for-money beauty finds I’ve had in a long time. If you want a "just stepped out of the salon" look without the price tag or the hassle of a UV lamp, this is it. I got the Forest/Thyme Green colour and it is a stunning, deep emerald tone with incredible depth. It doesn't just look green; it looks "expensive." It’s rich and opaque and I found two thin coats gave the perfect, streak-free finish that really shows off that deep forest hue. As someone with an olive skin tone, it can be tricky to find greens that don't look muddy. This shade is vibrant enough to pop but deep enough to remain sophisticated. I originally applied this to my long nails, and they looked like professional gel extensions. I recently cut them short, and the colour looks just as striking—it gives short nails a really chic, "clean girl" aesthetic. It's rare to find a budget polish that holds up this well in terms of both colour payoff and high-gloss shine. This has definitely earned a permanent spot in my collection!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish Shade Calla Lily Pink Glossy
This is a wonderful Pink Glossy Nail Polish Barry M Gelly for painting your fingernails. It is a beautiful cherry pink colour and has a bright glossy shine to brighten up fingers on your hands. This Barry M Gelly Glossy Nail Polish is very easy to apply with the pretty little applicator provided, will not chip, is hard wearing, and will last a long time. It is excellent value for money, does not need a base coat, is non-transparent, and comes in a wonderful little 10 ml bottle, bottle size 10 ml. Very many grateful thanks for this very attractive little Nail Polish by Barry M Gelly.

Great nail polishes but variable in quality
I love the Barry M Gelly collection of nail varnishes and own quite a few. They look like gel nails, even out my very ridgy nails, are shiny, easy to use and generally stay put well. So why 4 stars instead of 5? The quality of them varies a lot by colour. I've found that some are amazing, others chip very easily. They all go on well and look good, but some just don't stay. I should say I usually apply 2 coats, no base or top coat as I'm far too lazy - but some of these probably need a top coat to stop chipping. I should also say that I'm not easy on my nails - lots of hand washing, cleaning, chores. Mandarin - colour not quite as bright orange as in the picture but it's lovely, really smooth to apply and stays on without chipping for usually 4+ days. Pistachio - nice subtle colour, goes on and stays on for 4+ days. Spicy Mango - a darker browny-orange. A bit sticky and gloopy to apply, can last about 3 days without chips. Better with a top coat. Berry Parfait - my favourite. Applies smoothly and stays on the longest. Can get 5+ days without chips. Hot Chilli - love the colour, but chips almost instantly. Needs a top coat. The Barry M Plumpy top coat is good and shiny. Definitely buy these, but be prepared for a bit of variation in quality across the colours. It's fairly easy to patch up chips with another coat of varnish though without it looking obvious.

Great colour
Great colour and great price, both of which Barry M are renowned for. Goes on well, dries quickly. Not super long lasting so use a good topcoat!

Great
I have short, stubby, brittle nails. Genetics. I really can't be bothered with nail varnish usually as it just chips snd looks awful as soon as you use your hands. But I go through phases where I like to dress up a bit. Barry M lasts the longest and looks the best, and I've tried Essie, Chinaglaze etc. This lasts 2-3 days and i only need a few top ups. The black is my go to. It's an amazing black! I used the clear top coat too but you don't need to.

More chips than McDonald’s. Lovely colour though.
I have posted one photo of when the varnish went on, and one 24 hours later. I did not use a topcoat. The finish and formula of these polishes are nice. I bought shade peony, which is a muted pink. They also are value for money, and the bottle is bigger than the rimmel equivalent. Unfortunately the silver on the lid has the habit of chipping, so it wouldn’t look nice for long if you were keeping it in say a makeup bag. The brush is quite narrow, it’s precise but not as quick as the one stroke Rimmel brush on their 60 second nail polishes, which is wider. They dry in a few minutes, not a fast dry by any means but not too slow. Two layers were needed to build up to the colour in the photo, and the finish is a little streaky. However, it’s super shiny and mimics a gel manicure. The lasting power is the worst thing about these- they chip quicker than any other nail polish I’ve ever had. A top coat is definitely needed, or they will need topped up everyday. While the BarryM colours are nicer, the Rimmel formula and brush are a lot better. I would buy again if I couldn’t find the colour I wanted done by Rimmel.

My brand!
I've known for quite some time that Barry M was going to be my brand because I love its affordability and range of colours. After going without using nail polish for quite some time because it would chip after two/three days (I kept not using a base/topcoat, which would be why it'd chip after two/three days), I decided to try again. I used an older Barry M nail polish I still have to begin with (the Platinum Jubilee edition "Crown" nail polish, to be specific) and, after using a (Green Origin) base/topcoat, I found my nails lasted a week before chipping, which is a new personal best - and this is considering my nails were considerably longer at the time! At the time of this review, I'm wearing the Gummy Bear nail polish (can't say no to a good purple, me!) with the Shimmer base/topcoat & nail hardener (which smells like popcorn for some reason) and OH MY GOODNESS it was SO EASY to apply! I also found the Shimmer base/topcoat dried faster than the Green Origin base/topcoat I used before. The photograph shows what my nails look like with the Shimmer base coat, ONE coat of the Gummy Bear polish and the Shimmer topcoat. In conclusion, Barry M is absolutely going to be my nail polish brand going forward, especially if I remember to apply a base and topcoat in between. STRONGLY recommend!
