Buy it!!!!
This is a handy tool to have on your keychain to assist you in a case where it is pitch black dark and you need your keys in an instant. I let it sit in sunlight for 30 minutes and the keychain glowed great! The brightness intensity faded after roughly 3 hours of non direct sunlight but it still glowed dimly with less intense light and has not gone completely out since I have had and tested the keychain. It dimly glows green until sunlight hits it and that's when it really lights up. I have tested an low powered uv light with the keychain and it seems to take a liking to sunlight better. I would definitely buy this keychain again if somehow this one gets lost. I was NOT given this keychain for a review but would have loved to have been given one. Lol, but it is a nice new addition to my keychain; hope this helps if your leaning on the fence. Buy it!!

What a rip off!!
I paid $25 for this thing?! WHAT WAS I THINKING?? Man this was a stupid impulse buy and I fell for all the high tech BS. There is no special extra glow effect about this UV charged rod. It has the same glow effect as a trinket out of a gumball machine. All this "TEC EMBRITE" talk is a load of crap. It's just a resin piece of plastic with your average GITD powder mixed in. The glow is about as minimal as you'd expect for something this small, and of course it doesn't last any longer and isn't any brighter than any other GITD plastic. 12 hour glow my A. This will glow strongly for about 10 minutes, start to fade, and will hardly have any glow left after MAYBE 2-3 hours. Nothing special!Yes the housing IS stainless steel and the plastic "cutting edge Embrite technology" rod is held in place on the bottom with an O-ring. You can slide it out of you want. It's not totally a piece of junk, but it sure isn't worth $25. Maybe 3 bucks. Seriously you could take any little glow in the dark trinket, put a keyring attachment ring on it and get the same exact benefit out of it...that MAYBE it'll help you locate your keys or whatever it's attached to in the dark. If you're within 5' of it.Well, I was stupid so you don't have to be. Do not waste your money on this, there are better keychain charms inside a box of Cracker Jacks.

It's pretty small
I couldn't tell you why, but I'm always super excited for stuff that glows or is really shiny. Strong magnets are fun. Tiny lights....pet birds....the normal stuff people like. When it comes to glowing things, I'm pretty generous with my amazement....like if someone has a bright glow stick or fun glasses that glow, it's basically low-level wizardry, or witchcraft.....to me, at least. That being said, this little thing was kind of a bummer. For starters, it's really small - like.....if you needed to smuggle one into jail, so you could trade it for a haircut or some soups, it would be really, really easy. It's so small you could probably put it inside of a AAA battery, if you had an empty one. Nextly, it isn't as bright as it looks in the pictures. I mean....obviously there's gonna be some drop off between what you think you're buying and what you're actually going to end up with - but like.....if you think you're gonna toss your keys on the table at a party and all the ladies are gonna be like "oooh - that dude must drive a spaceship. I wonder if he wants a beej?" You aren't. Maybe at the trap - but still very unlikely. It's crazy bright for like 20 seconds immediately after you shine a uv light on it - but nobody is gonna mistake you for a Sons of Wizardry prospect or anything.

Glows exceptionally well even with very little charge
I was surprised that on the first night after opening the box and putting it in a dim room I found the product glowing brightly.

Small but nice.
It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Very nice though. the glow doesn't last but a minute or 2 but it is quite bright

Waste of money, fades to nothing after a few minutes
The product arrives in a very fancy presentation box with what seems an inordinate amount of material spent on packaging something so quite ordinary. It's a small bar of yellow-green fluorescent material wrapped in a metal cage. Placing it in direct sunlight or under a bright UV source for a few seconds "charges" it to its full potential, which isn't much. The thing is momentarily bright but in a dark room you can see that its brightness quickly fades to nothing in a matter of minutes. Perfect waste of money. I have a fluorescent eraser - some kids toy - which looks to be made of the same material and it is about the same brightness and fades out in about the same time. The principal difference is that the kids toy came out of a gumball machine and cost 25 cents.
