POSP 8x42 scopes are close to the middle of the overall POSP line-up both in terms of size and performance. However, POSP 8x42 models are the most precision oriented offerings in the POSP line-up and the rifles they fit best relfect that. 8x42 POSP scopes make for a good match to SVD, PSL and NDM rifles that are intended for really pushing the limits of both the weapon platform and the cartridge at extended range. 8x42 scopes offer enough magnification for use at extended ranges without sacrificing much low light performance and field of view. The POSP 8x42 model is equipped with both the SVD-type side mount and the standard reticle which is a non-caliber specific variation of the original Dragunov design. Notably, the dual height choke-style rangefinder is still there as is the aiming chevron. Additional hashmarks on the sides of the chevron allow for easy wind compensation with the reticle.
