Great dumbbells, I got the pair of 30 lbs and they seem good quality & no super strong smell. Note that they ship separately even though amazon provides only one tracking number for some reason, and they don't arrive at the same time, so if you receive one dumbbell might need to wait a day or two for the second one to arrive (our 2nd one arrived 24 hours after the first one arrived).

Surprisingly good weights. Good weight uniformity in each pair and good longitudinal balance on each dumbbell. Knurling and grip are excellent with no sharp edges or poor machining issues. The covering has only a very slight smell that does not pollute the room with the typical toxic odor of chinese polymer (although I don't believe for a moment that it's actually California prop 65 compliant). These dumbbells are superior to anything I've seen intended for the amateur residential market, and the price per pound is quite competitive.

Probably won’t affect the usage . Hope it doesn’t tear further . Too much of a pain to ship back! Bought this brand before and didn’t have any issues .

Overall, this company Ziva makes awesome dumbbells. They are of great quality and won’t wear out too quickly. We’ve never had any functionality issues or had to use the warranty on any of the several sets we’ve purchased from them. Ziva is also a great company, specifically, to purchase from. They have competitive pricing and an awesome range of products. Check them out!! Anytime I’ve had questions or needed assistance, Scott has been the one to help me. Same as pictured, great quality, effective (great and easy to grip) and heavy. Comfortable in hands (which are tiny). Great addition to my home workouts and home gym. Will purchased more from this brand in the near future. No assembly required.
