Update: chair started to fail after one summer
UPDATED POSTChair started to fail after just one summer of use. There's small brass plate that is part of the mechanism that both attaches the leg to the arm and sets the chair-back position. That brass plate is too thin (or the metal is too soft) to work. When it deforms, the mechanism falls apart and the leg and arm separate.I wasn't expecting high-end quality at this price point, but it is expensive enough that I expected it to last more than one year.ORIGINAL POSTThe quality seemed great strait out of the box. And, it looks nice. However, after about two months of sitting on the deck it's cracked down one leg and creaks a lot when you sit in it.I'm rating it 4 starts because of the crack and the fact that the varnish / treatment has all rubbed off -- it looks like bare wood already (but, I did expect that I'd have to oil it like any teak furniture, so that's not that big a deal).

forgotten after the sale
The wood is Okay, sturdy-ish.Immediately upon first use: The fasteners tend to loosen and fall out, to be lost in our yard/deck/patio etc."All Things Cedar" Would not sell or recommend where to find replacement fasteners. A specialty double ended shoulder screw/binding post.

Fabulous Steamer Chair!
I was thrilled with this chair from the moment I started opening it. It was beautifully packaged, for a start. The chair is far more substantially made than one I had years ago...like the details...brass fittings, etc. I have it proudly displayed in my living room and it's gotten compliments.

Buyers BEWARE
These chairs are the worst. They have two major flaws. The first is the brass nuts and bolts they are built with are so brittle they snap off during normal wear and tear after only a few months. I have had six of them break off. The other issue is the reclining mechanism. I bought two of these pieces of junk and they are drilled and set up differently, meaning one reclines more than the other and does not adjust up to a comfortable sitting position. The reclining mechanism under the arm is of poor quality and won't all for adjustment unless you turn the steamer chair over and click into the slots. I am so frustrated with the quality that I am won't even donate these to our local thrift shop and put someone else through this.

one good one faulty
One chair is fine the other has a faulty reclining mechanism on the left arm and makes it almost impossibe to recline the back. The chair is also not level when freely sitting on the deck. What do you suggest I do? Can I get a replacement reclining mechanism for the left arm. Please advise
