Amazing Soap
I love this shaving soap! I am a lady and new to the old fashioned wet shaving method. But I have extremely sensitive skin. When my husband and I decided to ditch the multi-blade disposable razors and get back to the good old (new) fashioned way of shaving I began my search for a non-toxic, mild shaving soap. This is it! All the other shave soaps I researched contained synthetic ingredients, including fragrances. My skin cannot tolerate any of those things. Then I found this soap. Finally! Someone who understands sensitive skin. This soap lathers beautifully, has the right amount of protection and glide. I used this soap on my very first shave using a double edge safety razor and did not get a single nick or cut on my legs (even on the knees!) or under arms. And it has a hint of real lavender essential oil. Just enough to have a pleasant scent without being overpowering. It did not dry out my very dry skin either. My skin felt really soft after shaving with this soap. The real test for me actually comes a couple of days after I try a new product. I sometimes have a delayed reaction. I have not had any irritation at all from this soap, even two weeks later. I will be using this soap for as long as they make it. Along with a great product, this company has great customer service. They have sent three emails with tips on how to get the best results using their soap, etc. I like a company that follows up and shows they care about their product. It also came in a recyclable cardboard box, which scores extra points with me. Please, if you have sensitive skin, give this soap a try. I know you won't be disappointed.

So much easier and BETTER than shaving cream! I wish I'd trashed my last puck long ago vs finishing it off before using this one
Wow, I thought I'd posted a review on this soap ages ago...sorry I did not. I started using a soap puck and brush for shaving about 3 years ago. I used a couple different pucks that were cheaper and it was slightly better than shaving cream. I bought this puck, and I'm assuming didn't post a review because it took a while to finish off the old puck and replace with this one, and now that I have, I really wish I'd just trashed my previous puck! The lather on this puck REALLY works well. It is thick, and stays in place. A couple of times I have brushed off the excess soap into the cup and the lather just sits there. You'd think it would settle back down into the rest of the soap but it doesn't, it hangs in place until the bubbles dry out in place. I guess my point is the lather really works well. I like the scent (as does my wife!). The shave is smooth and I almost never get any nicks at all. My good friend shaves his head (and face) and always uses shaving cream. This is going to be a Christmas gift for him, along with a cup and brush.

Buy artisan, and stay away from Proraso and Col. Conk. Artisan soaps are much, much better for a great shave, and smell better.
Men's Soap company Lavender has the 3 necessities for a 5 star soap. 1. scent 2. slickness 3. cushion My story: Over the last couple of months, I've used Phoenix (Gondolier), Razorock (XXX), Mitchell's Wool Fat, and Fine American Blend shaving soaps. I love every one of these soaps, and wouldn't trade them. They are all excellent, and are all first tier soaps. I recommend each and every one of these soaps. Try them all! Really, over time, and if funds permit. I would say Proraso is second tier, and something I just purchased over and over because I didn't know any better, and there weren't many alternatives back then. Colonel Conk is a third tier soap, and is what turned me off to glycerin based soaps in the first place, and is what gives glycerin based soaps a bad rap on shaving forums. Men's Soap Company Lavender soap provides a TON of cushion and lathers much easier. The slipperiness and cushion is what makes this soap special. The lavender smell is heavenly, and will relax you to perform a great shave. The price is very tempting to just hit the purchase button. I had one of the best closest shaves today, and I'm just overjoyed. I recommend any of the soaps I've mentioned above, but I already know that this will be one of my personal favorites.

Effective, pleasant shaving soap for women that lasts
I switched from inexpensive, disposable razors for women to a unisex safety razor just over 1 year ago and started with this soap. My goal was to get a better shave and to reduce the amount of plastic I use. It's great that the box is small and the plastic wrap covering the puck is minimal. The best part--this soap has lasted a year with weekly use! I use a Je&Co Luxury Synthetic Shaving Brush and steel bowl; the lather whips up in no time and coverage is great. While the product description notes "you will not experience irritation, nicks or cuts ... ," I sometimes do experience nicks and cuts (especially near my shins and ankles) even after a year of practice using a safety razor with this product. It's more about technique and razor and blade quality, and less to do with soap. The amount of scent is perfect for someone who is sensitive to perfumes. I only notice it slightly while shaving and it's pleasant. It was difficult finding a feminine or neutral scent in a shaving puck--my choices were orange (different brand) and lavender (this one). Glad to have an option! Don't be turned off by the brand name, Men's Soap Company--this soap is a great choice for anyone!

excellent shaving soap
I've tried a number of different shaving soaps over the many years I've used a shaving brush and this one is my favorite. Great lather and mild fragrance, excellent shave. Also the company is very conscientious about minimizing wasteful packaging.

Rich Thick Lather
This is an excellent product, and why I have ordered it 3 times while buying other shaving soaps for comparison. I have found my favorite Lavender scent, and it’s ingredients allow it to be placed in a mug in boiling water to have it melt and conform to the mug. Other soaps have not melted, or lathered up as well. My go to shaving soap!
