Why does it run for approximately 7 hours on a full wind?

This is not a high-quality automatic, so it doesn't have the better movement. They are at the lower end of the Chinese watch market. It's a nice-looking watch, but not built for extended wear.

Band came broken. I read that the band is 20MM, but does it take a normal quick release band?

Yes, I’m sure it would. They are no different from other bands, just easier to take off, or put on.
