For a heavy metal chug, this won't do it. If you're looking for anything from a clean boost up to a vintage sounding fuzz face, this pedal is perfect. I can hear AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix inside this box. Those 3 artists are only a few examples of what you can get out of the automatone. The sky is the limit with this. But, as I stated, if you're looking for Metallica, death metal and that sort of sound then look elsewhere.
