Solid amp but bad choice using screws for terminals
I’m only knocking this amp down one star because I do not like the screw in terminals they use. The style being able to unplug all your speakers at one time is kind of cool. But the small Phillips type screwdriver you need was a poor choice. It should at least have a hex head.I also don’t like the way they did the cover on top. That actually uses an Allen wrench they supply I don’t know why they couldn’t do that with the speaker terminals. The cover is just inconvenient to take on and off and if you’re like me installing this under a seat it a huge pain to have that cover. I actually just have left it off.The amp is also pretty much wide open on one side so if you’re concerned about dust and dirt this might not be for you. But the benefit is that it’s getting plenty of air to the circuit board. But as performance and quality it’s a good amp.The adjustments you can make work good. The clip lights work perfectly. Makes it easier to set up and use. I tested it with an oscilloscope and DMM and the lights are dead on correct. So if you want to just turn your stereo volume up to 75% and turn the gain till lights start to blink and back of a tinny bit you’ll be set.Went from 45x4 amp to this 125x4 and it’s been great so far. Running 100 watt 4 ohm speakers and it definitely improved the sound quality and overall performance.I would recommend if you’re getting it for a good deal, as in much less than retail.Again really wish they didn’t use a tiny screw head for the terminals. Also if you can put wire ferrules on your terminals do so. It definitely helps and makes it a cleaner install, easier to work with etc…See pictures, amp rack I started and size comparison to an old MTX I had been using.

One of the best money can buy.
Some have said this amplifier had problems or issues with design or build, but I'm here to dispute that claim.I now own 3 Audio Control amplifiers, and one DSP, the DM-810. Two LC 6-1200 and one LC 1-1500. I just upgraded my fronts and rears to Morel Elate Carbon Pro 63A, with two 12" Rockford Fosgate TW1's. Sony XAV-9000 ES head unit. All interconnects are Worlds Best Cable Mogami interconnects. I installed and tuned everything myself. This is a complicated amplifier, yes. It has Linkwitz-Riley crossovers for all channels, and channel summing for all channels as well. 1-2 for high, 3-4 for bandpass OR high or low pass, and 5-6 for low pass. If you do not know how to set an active crossover, do your homework. These amplifiers also have MILC detection, which tells you when each channel is maxed out, and beginning to clip. Important for anyone that wants to listen at high volume without distortion, and especially while tuning your input and output levels and gains. These amplifiers also have a 5 YEAR WARRANTY. Register your amplifier online, and they will repair or replace components inside, or replace the amplifier. They are "designed" in America, and fixed and repaired in America. Much like your Apple phone. Just better. These are priced according to the quality of the components internally, as well as the technical design. If you want to pay for Walmart quality components and design, get a Walmrt amplifier. When you're ready for a professional, high quality, high-end amplifier, get one of these. You will not be disappointed.

AccuBass causes speaker hiss
I had this installed as part of a package by a local shop that deals in Audio Control. I needed an amp with a line-out converter because my car's factory head unit does not have line out. The shop that did the install delivered the car with Accu-Bass on for both the front and rear (because it does make the system "pop" more, presumably). I called Audio Control about the hiss, and the technician I spoke with said Accu-Bass should not cause a hiss, and that I should re-stage gains to fix, which I did, but had no impact on the hiss. ANYWAY-- I turned Accu-Bass off to get rid off the hiss, and it turns out I still get plenty of bass, and am happy. But I don't trust this amp and will not buy products from Audio Control in the future.Other complaints:- The top cover is annoying to take on and off.- The little switches are extremely hard to manipulate and the plastic is of poor quality. I sheared the plastic knob off a switch with just a flathead bit in my hand. For this money, this is unacceptable use of poor materials.
