Certainly not a bad buy.
Bought this only yesterday and already giving a 5* review. Feature packed 'mini beast'!. All bands have given results with channels...even the Air-Band (my reason for purchasing) I am currently Miles away from my local Airport but managed to catch the frequency of an Aircraft passing over on it's way home. Radio Alarm clock too, saw it was but have to say I thought that's not for me as I use my Phone...that may change now too!. Amazed nobody has mentioned to date, behind the Battery cover is a small flap, I left it open and the Radio sits at you at a 45 degree angle...again great for Aircraft scanning (dunno if that's it's purpose but if not it should be!!). Only con is a silly 'lock' button, hit it by mistake and the Radio is locked, you then have to unlock to use it...erm is that not the same as the power button? 3 hour charge...flat to full...been using on FM for an hour and is still full. Nice touch the lithium battery is removable, these do loose their ability over time and takes 5 seconds to replace with a new One.

Great quality
This little radio is great value for money. Quality of plastics is high and the sound quality - for voice in particular- is good given its small dimensions. It has many functions and therefore requires a reasonable amount of reading of the manual to make the best of its capabilities, but all in all I’ve been impressed.

A good receiver but not without issues
I have purchased this product twice. One needed to be returned. It is a lovely small size receiver with good sensitivity and selectivity. It offers plenty of useful functions and it is capable of receiving Long, Medium, short waves, FM stereo and Airband. It has a nice backlight display, surprisingly good quality speaker and it sounds amazing on earphones, especially whem the music mode is turned on. The big advantage is the tiny size as it fits in your pocket. Another great feature (when it works) is the command dial which makes it easier to search for the channels. Here unfortunately something seems to have gone wrong as in 2 receivers I purchaased, one from Amazon and one from Ebay, the command dial was set crooked and it was lose. It kept falling off. There was a bit of a sticky adhesive tape holding it attached to the unit. I could not use such unit and returned the radio twice. Since then I have a managed to buy correctly assembled examples. The receiver is cheap and there are some quality issues. However, for the money, you can't get a better one if you get one that works ok. I just hope they will last some time. To sum up, once I got good examples, (I have 2) It is an amazing radio. I have seen some reviews saying that it doesn't pick up many short wave stations. It is working fine in my opinion and there is a skill to SW surfing, such as antenna use, time of day, location away from computers and outside. A very capable device when assembled correctly and used properly. Great value.

Small but good.
I had to wait until my Husband had tried this transistor and the comings and goings of an airport. To say it's very small it has very good reception 👍 of course you have to have a little patience when listening to the pilots. The radio has a lot of stations, plenty to choose from. Overall he says it was a very good present. Delivery excellent.

Cheapness shows in reception capabilities.
Compact but aircraft reception in my area (5 miles from airport) is poor.

This Sihuadon R-108 radio is a perfect gem! Small, very capable, great audio, sensitive and well built, there isn't really any significant flaw to find. In short, it's a smaller XHDATA D-808 without SSB and RDS: in all the other important things, it's as capable as its bigger brother (XHDATA and Sihuadon are brands of the same company). A great advantage is that this radio it's smaller and lighter, and also has a much friendlier user interface than the D-808. This last part may seem odd to some, but let me explain. The D-808, for all its qualities, has a weird quirk that can annoy: there is no way of browsing stored stations with an up and down set of buttons -- that basic thing all digital radios have is missing there. Instead, on the D-808 you have to press the actual number of the stored station, and if you have more than 10 of them, then you also must change the "page" for each group of 10 (three careful button presses each time) -- good luck doing that in low light or darkness. With this radio, the R-108, everything is well designed: you have the very useful VM/VF button which will let you use the main tuning wheel to browse stored stations, the wheel can be used for tuning frequencies in larger and smaller steps too, very good. About the features lacking in comparison with D-808, besides the fact it does not have SSB and it doesn't display RDS information for FM stations, there is only one thing that may constitute a difference: at times, the D-808 seems a tiny bit more sensitive than the R-108. But this difference is so small, I cannot even say with certainty that it's there. For all intents and purposes, they receive the same stations with the same clarity, and are as easy to tune. I haven't tested the Air band, as I am in a region where signals from the fairly distant airport are too faint. A big advantage of R-108, compared to my version of D-808 from 2022 (orange LCD backlight and micro-USB plug), is the sound, especially on headphones. The R-108 has eliminated the floor noise (hiss) of the larger radio, and has much better sound overall. Moreover, it has two sound modes (voice and music) that you can change by long pressing the '4' key anytime (an almost undocumented feature, really). The better audio quality may be a consequence of R108 being newer, maybe they have now changed the audio amplifier on the D808 too, I don't know. But the difference is huge on headphones. Overall, this is an excellent radio: small and lightweight, very good FM, SW and AM, not that good LW (yet it works for stronger stations), but really a very good radio that you can easily take with you anywhere and not miss much.

Dommage!
