Agave Inulin is a carbohydrate belonging to a class of compounds known as fructans and is not absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract. Indigo Herbs Organic 100% Blue Agave Inulin Powder is sourced from raw native Mexican Blue Agave. The nutritious fine white powder is extracted from Weber Blue Agave Tequilana by cooking the agave piñas for between 10-15 hours at a low heat to preserve the inulin. The agave then goes through multiple passes in a liquid extraction chamber to squash out the agave juice which now contains the desired long chain agave fructans. This juice is then collected and dried to give a minimum of 90% inulin powder with average DP (degree of polymerisation) of 18 +/-3.
