Grateful to be able to go on walks again!
I’m really pleasantly surprised at the quality of this cart for the price. My dog recently lost the use of one of his hind legs and it was getting really difficult to go on walks. He still has lots of energy and didn’t quite understand why his body wasn’t cooperating. This cart allows him to walk as long as he wants and still use his three functioning legs without the fourth one getting in the way and tripping him up. It did take a bit of adjusting and he has tipped over a few times (once moving too fast on a hill and once after running over my partner’s foot) but overall it is working very well even in grass and rocky desert terrain! For reference, my dog is about 11 pounds (Jack Russell/Mini Poodle) and he is long and tall for his weight. The XXS cart fits but it’s almost too small.

This gave our dog a second chance at happiness!!!
The media could not be loaded. If you are thinking about this for your dog, just do it! We had contemplated a wheelchair for some of our previous pets but were hesitant because we just weren't sure how they would do. Our only regret since buying this one is not getting ones for our previous pets. This gave our girl a second chance at happiness since her spine has degraded preventing her from being able to get around normally. We bought this to take on vacation and she was nervous at first and didn't want to walk in it. However, once she went about ten feet, she was on full go mode. She enjoyed long walks with the rest of her pack which she hasn't been able to do for weeks or even months really. This is worth every penny and we are thrilled we made this purchase!

NOT BAD FOR THE MONEY....
if you have a senior dog - particularly dachshund - with rear leg paralysis & are only managing with palliative care, then this product may be a good option. There's a DEFINITE learning curve building it (it came only in metric measurements, with poorly translated to English instruction manual) and adjusting it is challenging. we put the dog into the harness once or twice to test, but adjustments cant be made while the dog is in the wheelchair. and an allen wrench is required (and one is also provided with the item).it's difficult to get accurate measurements of the dog, and our fella is 17lbs which puts him right on the line of the XXS and XS-LW models. we got the LW model which was recommended for his breed. to be honest it seems a little big and clunky for his sleight frail frame.. i do wish the wheels were a little bit smaller circumference and heavier duty, but the overall wheelchair is pretty lightweight, even for his build. we've only had it a few days, so far he's managed to take a few steps fwd, but mostly so far has gone backward or in circles, but i think this is bc the newness and him not trusting the contraption! LOL.i think in time he will adjust & trust to let his body weight fall into the harness. he does very well scooting around the house with just his front legs in a sitting up position with no wheelchair, and he walks (err..runs!) like a champ if i support his rear end with just my hands, so i know he has the upper body strength & ability to learn this wheelchair.our guy has at least 1 (maybe multiple) ruptured discs in center spine, so he cannot use rear legs, but he does have deep pain responses when we tickle/pinch between toes he jerks his legs, and in the wheelchair he's actually able to try to move his rear legs like he's walking!i think some of the negative reviews i read on this product came from frustrated owners, expecting the dog would just jump in the cart and start running.. NO. you need patience and practice, and ABSOLUTELY proper size & adjustments of the harness are crucial!i specifically chose this item bc it came with the underbelly support strap. i wish they were affixed in a semi-permanent position, bc they slide all over and dont end up supporting his belly where i want them to.. i might try to remedy that in the future when he is more comfortable being in the device.i had priced custom wheelchairs, they can run upto $600. our fella is nearing birthday 17. he;s also pretty stubborn and i wasnt sure he'd take to a wheelchair of any kind, so i didnt want to spend that much on a custom cart. although he cant walk on all 4s, he still think he's a young pup (when he's awake! which isnt very many hrs in the day anymore!) so given our situation, this was a cost effective means of helping give him so added mobility and independence. we only plan to use this indoors, mainly bc we dont have wide open FLAT spaces outdoors, all hills..it IS a bit difficult the first few tries getting the dog in the wheelchair - esp the rear legs. it's easier done with 2 people. if you dont have that option, i'd suggest try getting rear legs in place first, but it may depend on your baby's condition and breed.it's impossible to know by our dog if he's in any pain or uncomfortable in this wheelchair as he's very stoic and never whines or cries no matter what.. but food was a good stimulus to get him moving in the cart, and i think in time i'm going to be very happy with this purchase. I'd recommend to anyone on a bidget and/or not ready to put out the money for the custom cart. just be prepared to take time and work with your dog. he'll tell you when it's enough!!

Couldn't use it!
This didn't work for my dog at all. I have a small 8 lb. Chihuahua with hip problems. I was disappointed that the apparatus couldn't be adjusted small enough to work for him. Not to mention, it's over priced! The quality is decent enough, but not recommended for small dogs.

Works, but not the most sturdy or steady
I bought this for my pit mix when she lost use of her back legs. We went with this chair because it was a cheaper price and we weren't sure how she would take to using a wheelchair. The first few weeks of use she took to it very well and easy. But the chair itself wasn't holding up, the main side bars kept bending downward on the back part causing her to drag her feet even when in the holster. We were able to do some adjustments to make it work better and not drag her feet. The chair does its purpose and she is able to move around easily. The wheels tend to push inward and make it very easy to fall over. So it does not have very good stability for walking around on anything other than a totally flat surface. Walking in the backyard is a challenge, if she started walking fast or even attempting to run the smallest bump or clump of grass would cause her to lose balance and flip over on her side.We purchased this chair December 20th and had to "rig it up" a few times over the past 3 months of having it. This morning when I put my dog in the chair one of the leg loops fell off completely and the back bar came apart. So 3 months of use for maybe an hour a day seemed to be the limit on this chair for us. You definitely get what you pay for going the "cheaper" route even though this was still over $200. I am indifferent on if I would recommend this chair to anyone.

A real lifesaver for our dog
We needed help for a dog with canine disk disease who has a chance of recovery. This has allowed her to move about outside and take care of body functions easily. She gets excited when we get it out and looks forward to going for a walk. We have it set up so that she is starting to move her legs and practice walking without having her feet touch yet - great for her PT. She gets to "be a dog" again. It takes some doing to get her into it, but we have the routine down now. I highly recommend this product.
