Great value for large Bowie-style blade
Love the blade and handle except for the sub-hilt. Grippy and comfortable, well balanced. Blade was sharpish so I touched it up and now it's a serious cutter. Same blade shape as folding Espada XL, just longer blade. Interesting that it's the same length in the hand as the XL from standard grip position (hand is behind the pivot on Espada). Sub-hilt was so annoying I cut it off. Whether that is because there was not enough space for the forefinger or I just don't like them, I don't know. This is now my go-to Bowie-style work knife.

A BUDGET FRIENDLY BEAST!
A great quality full tang Bowie knife for the asking price. This Knife is a Beast. 👍 THE BLADE The 9in long 4.7mm thick blade came razor sharp with a good grind on it. The AUS8A Steel is not a Super steel, however It's a great working steel that's easy to touch up and will take a beating without being prone to chipping. Plus Cold Steel does an exceptional job on the heat treatment of their blades and this knife is no exception. THE HANDLE In my opinion the ergonomics are fantastic! The handle is kraton (rubber) and has very aggressive texturing. The sub hilt (which is also rubber)is very comfortable and absolutely locks in your grip on the knife. All in all, a very versatile tool that can be used in a multitude of ways whether that be as a camp/woods knife, work knife, or a self defense tool. Another Great product by Cold Steel 👍👍👍

Cold Steel Budget Bowie!
Top notch Budget version of a modern tactical style of Bowie knife. With design style encompassing the frontier and raider style. Sharp and ready for action right out of the box. A decent outdoor adventurers blade for that deep woodland hike!

Good quality!
It's a nice knife. I bought the serrated. Good quality and weight. But I'm a little disappointed, because they sent it in the stone-washed finish. The picture shows stone-washed for the plain edge, and glossy for the serrated. Consequently I could only give 4 stars.

Cold steel (marauder,)
Very sharp, nice grip, snap in place sheath holds knife but allows for easy and quick pullout. Like the grip design and material. Does have a hole in the end of the handle, which I insert a small piece of Paracord through and configure a small loop. Why you ask? From a experience that I had. Set the knife down and accidentally bumped it and it slide down into a log jam. Finally retrieve the knife but by adding the Paracord loop through the handle could have snagged it a lot quicker. Comfortable size not heavy, attaches easy to your gear carrier. Cold steel has been a reliable brand . Money well spent.

Great knife
Great knife. The handle provides a good grip. Came sharp and ready to go. Very sturdy construction. The Sheathe works very well holds the knife perfectly, and Heavy-duty

Great for the Price
Fit and finish is nice, came RAZOR sharp. Light and nimble in hand, and grip gives excellent retention. This is NOT a camp/survival/hunting/Bushcraft knife. If you are looking for that, this is not for you. This is a purpose made knife, made for what the name implies, and for what it looks like it is made for. I would recommend buying this with the cold steel Bowie trainer, and perhaps some books that are on Amazon as well that teach proper technique for the use of this style of knife

I have a legitimate 75+ cold steel knives and other than the Gurkha kukri this is by far the one I'd least like the get slashed with. Cold steel serrations are the best out there bar none. Mine came extremely sharp. Sheath fits well with a nice amount of room between the inside and the cutting edge. I personally like the stone wash finish. I have the og model with the plain edge and polished blade and yes that is sweeter but this is a 100% self defense knife and you really don't want that sun/light glare flickering in your face when you're trying to defend your life possibly...I personally always loved the rubber cold steel handles and this is no exception. The sub hilt takes a lil getting used to but is quite comfortable for what it is even in a reverse grip.. my only gripe is the lip of the sheath flares up an you can't get your finger in between the 2 hilts for the draw. A few minutes with a dremel will fix that as the retainers for the handle are low enough to grind enough off to fix that.. still not bad at all to draw by any means just would be easier to be able to get you finger in between the hilts.

I recently picked up the Cold Steel Marauder (Plain Edge, 9" AUS-8A blade) and have been genuinely impressed. It’s a big knife, but not just for looks — it’s a practical, well-balanced tool that feels right at home both outdoors and around camp. The blade design is gorgeous and functional. The clip point is a bit finer than most Bowies, maybe giving it better precision for trimming. It’s slightly blade-heavy, which actually helps when chopping small branches or kindling for a fire. And interestingly, it also feels great for food prep — the balance and shape make it behave a bit like a heavier chef’s knife. The AUS-8A stainless steel and durable handle materials make it easy to keep clean and hygienic, which is great when you’re slicing food around camp. The knife came razor-sharp right out of the box and it seems will be easy to maintain. The handle is comfortable, grippy, and ergonomic even when wet, and the Secure-Ex sheath feels sturdy and reliable. Despite its size, the Marauder feels manageable and confidence-inspiring in hand. Overall, I’m very happy with this knife. It delivers somewhat classic Bowie look, real working performance, and even a touch of kitchen-like versatility — a rare combination at this price.

Very good knife. Aus 8 stainless steel is perfect for a knife that will be used. Lots of reviews classify this knife as a fighting knife only but NOOP...it baton really good. It sharpen stick of every size very good. It chops very good for its weight so it's a very nice survival/bushcraft/camp/go rub someone esle knife. I picked this one in a selection of 2900 knives... obsessive I know lol....but very awsome sleeper knife. Dont fall for the youtube Esse 6, tops bob and fallkniven A1 only options for bushcraft. A kinfe is really not much more than a sharpened blade and an handle. If it fits you hand and got the lenght and grind you want go for it!

Une vrai bête pour le camping. Multi usage et semble très solide . Reste a voir si il mérite sa réputation.
