Really Good Binoculars at a Great Price
These are great binoculars, I was hesitant to purchase them because I did not recognize the brand. But they are awesome, and I think that they are a great deal. They are American made and they are easy to use and care for.

A great value for new bino if you can get them for this price.
First of all I have both the 8X and the10X version of these and like the look through the lense, the design and the solid feel. The focus wheel is sensitive and stiff which is good. There's a very narrow range of motion to precisely attain focus but the lenses are pretty darn good. I have a pair of Fujinon 7X50 Meibo Marine Binoculars that rival my 1986 Swarovski SL7x42 both of which have better quality lenses than the Midas UHD glass but the Swarovskis were over $1,000.00 in 1986. It's really not fair to compare these to binoculars which cost 2-10 times as much but even at $300 they're a good value. The chromatic aberration is a factor at ranges beyond 1 mile however viewing a Cooper's Hawk in my yard at 100 ft. the detail and color rendition in the evening was spectacular. I have a view of the Front Range of the Rockies about 15 miles away from my property and that's where the detail falls off, but hey, that is why they make 12X $2500.00 Binos. If you aren't spoiled by $1,500-2,500 Binoculars you won't notice the difference. With a demonstrated commitment to support and a Lifetime warranty these cost pennies a day to own. You'll never wear them out. What a deal.

very good binocular in its price
very good binocular in its price range. better than certain binoculars within its price. very ergonomic. i like it very much. clear, sharp, crips views. like vortex diamondback HD. i wonder if much expensive athlon give views better than this with good magnification....

Try these
Very impressed. I compared these w/ Vortex Diamondback & Maven C.1 and ended up returning both of those and keeping the Athlon Midas. Optical performance and build quality are superb for this price bracket.

Excellent performance at a bargain price!
These are a great pair of binoculars! I’d been having trouble finding much in the way of reviews of these. So I felt like I was taking a bit of chance buying them. I’m very glad I took the chance. After doing as much research as I could pre-purchase I concluded that these Athlon Midas binoculars were the equivalent, at least on paper, of other considerably more expensive binoculars such as Vortex Viper HDs. I also concluded that even though these Athlon Midas’ are listed as the number three tier binocular in Athlon’s lineup (Athlon Cronus is the top tier followed by Athlon Ares) that in every way that really mattered to me (BAK4 roof prisms, phase shift corrected, ED glass) these Athlon Midas’ would provide the same practical performance as the more expensive top tier Athlon Cronus. All of this and finding a pair of Athlon Midas binoculars at the bargain price of $225, along with just a couple of favorable reviews, and noting the lifetime warranty, encouraged me to take the leap.Once in hand the Athlon Midas’ binoculars appear to be very well built and rugged. I checked for common binocular issues, such as collimation, and found no problems. I did some experimenting looking at trees and house roofs down the street from me on a snowy day both at midday and later as dusk set in. I could not detect the presence of any chromatic abberation (which I would expect to show up when there is snow as part of the image). So all good there. I only have a rather cheap pair of binoculars to compare these too, but the difference with the Athlon Midas binoculars is striking. They are very bright and clear. The resolution of the image is very sharp. Color reproduction seems excellent. No evidence of the contrast washing out as happens with cheaper binoculars. All in all these binoculars seem to be a spectacular bargain. Athlon seems to be an up and coming company in the optics world. They make rifle scopes, spotting scopes, and rangefinders in addition to binoculars. Given my excellent experience with these Athlon Midas binoculars so far, I’ll be looking at Athlon real hard for future optics purchases.

Likely the best buy for its price
I had a decent pair of hundred dollar binoculars but I wondered how much better the image could get. Our second floor hill house looks out on to a downtown area about ten miles away and it's fun to watch tiny vehicles negotiating the interchanges. These guys lit 'em up and sharpened the detail so handily, I didn't mind paying the premium price. A little hefty but worth the extra oz's to deliver such a cool frame.

WOW, I'm not new to binocs but it's been a while since I had a pair, These are pretty amazing!
They're just over a pound and a half, 25 ounces. (0.7 kg). They're super-easy to use. The focus control is as smooth as butter and fast!I got these to help me when I shoot photos so I can look around before pointing my camera. They deliver crisp, sharp images and the amount of light they let in is extraordinary.Bright sharp and crisp viewing. good contrast. I have no "high-end" glass to compare these to, but I was also looking at the vortex Diamond and Mavens. These were very reasonable. I'm very happy with them!
