Great range of colours with some very familiar names and although I haven’t swatched every colour yet, there’s been no problem at all so far with dried out, watery or lumpy consistency of the paints in the tubes. The little booklet enclosed gives advice to wash the brushes before first use to get the ‘dressing’ out (and maintenance thereafter) and the brushes are a good range including a tiny detail brush for miniature painting and hairline lines. The two palettes are plastic and functional, washing off easily after use and I liked them very much because they fitted my hand and were well balanced both in the hand and on the table. I’ve cut one of the two sponges to make little ‘dabbers’ for texture effects and was pleased with the results. The included pencil sharpened up very nicely with the included mini sharpener, the wood shaving off in one continuous curl from start to finish - one of my childhood ‘things’ that does however show that the lead is centred and the wood of a decent quality! The enclosed paper is thick, stood up to washes and pencil erasing (the enclosed eraser works well, nice and soft on the paper and very efficient at removing my ‘creative errors’! All in all, a very comprehensive bundle of well thought out art equipment which is ideal for us people who just feel the need to paint but have limited budgets and I absolutely love it. This isn’t the first time I’ve bought from this company and it won’t be the last. And one last thing - read the booklet - very interesting, easy to understand information on which colours to blend to get even more shades of colours and fun out of what is proving to be one of my best buys. I'm new to this art stuff! I bought this as it was quite inexpensive just in case I don't take to it, so far I have found the colours are beautiful, easy to mix, seem to be good quality, easy to use and the box contains most of what you need as a beginner, I hadn't realised it comes with an A5 watercolour paper pad too, bonus

It's a good set to for a starter. The papers are great. Brushes are good. A good range of color but the color quality is not the great. The pigments varies greatly and do not respond to salt.

Entire package is of great quality and giving great results so far. There was unfortunately a problem with the bristles of a couple of the brushes due to a packaging mistake - but the service I received from the supplier was really excellent: she could not have been more helpful - to the extent that that one problem was no longer an issue. Good value for money.

Its better than expected

My best friend asked for a portrait of our dogs for her birthday and I wanted to try using watercolor for the first time (i had worked with acrylic in the past). I didn't want to have to pay an arm and a leg for supplies though but needed something decent. This was the second set i purchased because the first one was watercolor pans from another brand and i realized it was not convenient for my 18"x24" painting. Then I chose this set mainly because it was in tubes, had some essential colors I preferred like the burnt sienna and ultramarine blue and came with several brushes that received great reviews. And the price! After swatching it, I loved it! The colors were not watered down and had great pigmentation and flow. The brushes were not cheap and I did not lose any hairs for the duration of the portrait which I was super happy about. I actually worked on the picture on and off multiple times a day over the course of a week and on the first day, squeezed way too much paint on my palette. But even after it dried over and over again, I was able to continue using the paint after rewetting without problems, so i was happy about that. Although I'm no professional or expert, I enjoyed working with these and would definitely order this again! No complaints about anything!
