These worked perfectly for my needs! As you will see from the photos, they took paint well, were thick enough that I could drill a 3mm hole to insert a nail to stabilize the star on top of the tree. PROS: 1) Raw material was sanded well and did not require additional work 2) They accepted paint readily and required only 2 light coats of spray paint 3) They were thick and not flimsy with a thickness of 1/4" 4) It was easy to drill holes into the stars 5) None arrived broken 6) Strong, perfectly sanded and cut, making them the perfect star for my project! CONS I saw nothing that needed improvement.

Woodpeckers® 1-1/2" Wood Star, Natural Unfinished Wood Star Cutout Shape (1-1/2 inch) (Bag of 100) I purchased this item as I was in the process of making an USA flag from pallet wood. As the flag was going to be approx. 2ft x 3ft the 1 1/2 inch size best fits for a gov't spec. flag. I purchased 100 to make sure I had enough 'good' ones. The bag of 100 actually contained 108. There was a very small percentage that had the points broken or rounded off. In my case these was still unable because of the style of flag I was making. If you are really picky and require each one to be perfect for your application, you might consider ordering extra. Don't worry, you will find something to use the other ones on. The stars are made of a brownish colored wood. Sorry I don't recognize it. One thing I noticed is that they really soaked up the spray paint. I was using an off-white, almond color to give an aged appearance and it took several coats to achieve the color I wanted. Using wood glue and a 23 gauge pin nailer I attached the stars to the union. Even with two nails in each, not one of the stars split. This surprised me. Great product, great delivery.

Solid wood with equal thickness. They will be great for crafting!

These stars worked great for what I needed. I’m using them as counters during our Solar System unit. They are nice and smooth. Good size. The reason for the 4 stars is that 2 of th stars had broken tips. I needed 45 but with young kids, things like this are easily lost so the extras are nice to have as replacements. If you need 50 exactly, you might try to order some with a larger quantity just to ensure that at least 50 are in pristine condition

Multiple stars arrived broken. Historically this is a good product. But at this size it seems the quality per star doesn’t meet the higher quality of the larger variations.
