I grabbed one when doing my tub to shower conversion and absolutely love it. I had a plumbing pro install it along with a new faucet but it did not look that complicated to install. The quality of the materials is holding up well after 6 months with no signs of getting spotty or looking tired. I think its probably on par with anyone I've seen in a hotel (commercial quality). The shower wand is nice too and once you have gotten accustomed to using one, you will appreciate it even more. The rain fail head is just right and the hand wand can be switched over ease. The wand is really good for getting to those places down under... helps you feel clean. I'm happy with it and recommend it. Oh, I did not remove any water restriction thing which I believe it does have as I think there is plenty flow and we all need to do our part to conserve but I think if you must, you could open it up and get a lot more flow. The hand held wand has several settings to dial in fine high pressure to a higher pulsating flow and setting in between. The hose itself pretty much stays tangle free so it looks good when hanging and has the perfect amount of flex. Okay... Go ahead and get one.

Update: Moved into a new home and purchased the same shower fixture because it functions so well! As with the one in my previous house, I did not use the soap basket because I love the sleek, clean lines without it. The new one appears to look identical and be made as well as the first one from couple years ago. Very glad this model is still being produced. There are now 2 photos for my review. Pink tile is the old house, tan tile shows the new. Worth every penny. Thank you PULSE Shower Spas! Highly recommend-again.Finally repiped “This Old House” and changed out the shower fixture in the process. Plumber said it was easy to install. I chose not to use the soap holder. Even though the rain effect shower head does not adjust, the water flow is fine. I am 5’7 and there is still several inches of clearance when I stand under it. I included a photo of the whole unit and also one that shows the valve that diverts the water from the shower head to handheld wand and vice versa. This works fine and there is no dripping. It’s a beautiful fixture that goes well with the finish on my existing valve and faucet. Recommend!

I looked at several different shower systems on Amazon and went through a lot of the reviews.I choose the Kauai III based on several factors:1. It has the bar/tube for sliding height adjustment. This is a feature I really like and is great for two people who will use the shower that are different in height.2. It has the angled hose swivel that comes out of the bottom – this really ensures that there is no hose interference with my mixing valve handle. Seems like a small detail, but you can see in the pic the difference it makes.3. Installation instructions looked very easy. I like that I did not have to drill and make any screw mounts into my tile to mount it. The top of the unit is essentially held in place by the in-wall plumbing. But the bottom of the unit is where there is an additional mount. It comes with an adhesive backed mounting plate and also screws to mount the plate. I was skeptical about using only the adhesive mounting, but didn't want to drill into my tile. It turns out this a really strong adhesive pad on the back of the plate – make sure you get the unit exactly vertical/plumb before pressing this on the wall because it’s not going to easily come off.4. My shower is fairly small foot print and it looked like this had enough reach for the rain head, but not too much reach.I had read several reviews on this unit that mentioned leaking at some of the joints between the preassembled pieces – I’ve had no problems. I found the packaging design to be very good, and the pre-assembly of the unit to also be fine.I had also read that some people had pressure issues. The pressure in my house is fairly high, but I still like a strong shower. I removed the flow regulator in the brass fitting that gets attached to the wall pipe. It is easy to do, just remove an internal ring clip and then press it out the back side from the front, reapply the screens and the clip. You could probably also just leave the screens out and the clip out altogether… Very happy with the pressure with that flow regulator removed. I didn't do a before and after test, so I can't compare the difference it made, but I’m happy with it removed.Overall, I think it is good quality and looks nice. A metal hand shower wand instead of plastic might be nice, but that would add extra weight when using it… I think it is fine how it is.I would recommend this, and plan on installing another one in one of my other bathrooms.
