A must-have for all practionners, as all other books from Mrs. McWilliams. Very helpful, clear explanations, not too easy, not too difficult. Explains the motives under the disorder and makes the discrimination from childhood to elderly. Worth its price!

I’ve been studying the first version of this book and found it very different to the DSM and ICD-10, In a good way that is! I haven’t yet received the newer version of PDM but I can garantee you I will be glued to reading it! Highly recommend PDM!! Brings a different perspective to mental health and illness.

I have been teaching the PDM diagnostic method for many years and find this method enables us to observe our patients in a complete, profound, and clear way, which significantly improves their treatment. Observing the patient from three different angles – personality traits, symptoms, and mental capacities (personality organization) – greatly assists professional understanding in the therapeutic process. Of course, this diagnosis does not negate the need to observe each patient as unique and not just as someone who fits this or that schema.

Very good price for this essential book. This is a must-read for humanist and psychodynamic therapists
