Pocket diapers are innovative dual-layer diapers that consist of a waterproof outer layer and a soft suedecloth inner layer that lays against the baby's skin. A pocket is provided between the two layers to fill with an insert of your choosing. The insert absorbs wetness while the suedecloth layer wicks moisture away from the skin. Because they come complete with a waterproof outer layer you do not need a separate diaper cover. How to Use the Diapers: When the diaper and insert have become soiled, simply remove the diaper from the baby, remove the insert from the pocket, and place both pieces into a diaper pail. Insert a new insert into the pocket of a fresh diaper, snap into place on baby, and go! How to Wash the Diapers: The diapers are made with a TPU outer, which means the outer waterproof layer has been bonded to provide a leak-proof surface. This surface will break down and begin to lose its waterproofing ability when exposed to excessive high heat from washing or drying. We recommend washing the diapers in a cool or warm setting, and either sun-drying or tumble dry on a low setting in the dryer. A note about TPU: TPU waterproofing uses an eco-friendly heat-bonding lamination process to waterproof the outer layer, in comparison to the PUL process which uses chemical solvents. TPU material is exposed to fewer chemicals, is biodegradable, and is more flexible and pliable than traditional PUL treated diapers.
