Is it machine washable?

I washed mine in a standard washer but the pad was too big for it and It could not wash so I took it to the landrymat and put it in an XL washer then when I put it in a dryer that was too small for some reason the backing got all torn up and the quilting came out. Many parts of it also somehow melted. So I had to throw it away. I am re ordering because it is so comfortable but this time I am putting it under another mattress protector so I dont have to wash it!!

I have a very firm mattress so will this really make my bed soft and comfortable?

No It is not going to make you think you bought a new, softer mattress. It definitely does make it feel softer but you have to realize that there is only an inch or so of softness in this, and any other topper. It helps for sure, just don't think you are going to turn a brick into a pillow.

Probably around 2inches thick once you wash n dry it which is what I did before putting on my bed. I love it and would buy again
