They work great for a truck tool box strut replacement
For those of you looking for a strut replacement for your truck/vehicle toolbox, these work great. They went on in a matter of minutes and definitely keep the lid from closing. If fact, almost too much, but I like it that way.For those of you who don't know what a strut is, the definition states that a strut is "a rod or bar forming part of a framework and designed to resist compression." Do NOT look at the "BAD" reviews of the operation of these struts and how "complicated" they are. It's a simple mechanical tool to help open/close doors, windows, etc. If you do not know how something works, it's not the products fault and you should probably look up a video. The interwebs have all the knowledge. Now, I agree that these do not come with instructions, per say. To mount them on an existing assembly like I did, you would take a small flat head screwdriver, or equivalent small tool, and pry the clip out just enough to take the pre-assembled hardware off. If what you're working on doesn't have existing ball-hitch style mounts, then you would just use screws, or equivalent hardware, to mount the already assembled strut mounts to whatever it is.

Works perfectly for 1995 Eurovan Winnebago Full Camper stove/sink cover
I looked at the struts for my 1995 Eurovan Winnebago Full Camper on GoWesty and BusDepot. I thought the prices were kind of high and I prefer ordering stuff from Amazon because of my Prime account shipping convenience, etc.The original struts were rated for 40 lbs. These are very close at 45 lbs. Compared to the originals, these struts are slightly shorter when compressed and slightly longer when extended. This just means they are completely compatible.I installed them in under 10 minutes using the OEM attachment points. They work perfectly. These struts are half of BusDepot and 1/3 to 1/4 the price of GoWesty. A very good value and the quality is great. It lifts like a dream and is also easy to close back down.

Just what I needed
Ordered these to replace the worn out one's in the toolbox on my truck. They were easy to install and fit perfectly. I didn't need to use the hardware included as I used the hardware from the old hinges. They work great and hold the toolbox lid open. So far so good.

Wonky Instructions, But Solid Product
We purchased this to lift a solid 1/4" piece of plywood that acts as support for a queen short bed in a travel trailer (it lifts up half of the bed to reveal storage underneath). It works great! The installation was simple once we figured it out. The instructions can be a bit of a challenge to understand at first (At least for me). They have multiple different types of lifts and illustrations on one set of instructions, so just make sure you're looking at the correct model number when you're installing it. Also, the instructions are very brief. Either way, I'd totally purchase this again. It was a fair price and the seller shipped it quickly. It came in small enough packaging that I didn't have to worry about it sitting on my steps for someone to take, too. 4.5 out of 5!

FOR CASE 60XT
I bought this item due to some one saying that it was a good fit to a Case skidsteer. Well.... it went in, and works okay. I mean it holds the rear good but you have to push it all the way back. This is due to it being longer than the original one. It’s about 2-4 inches longer than the original one. You can defined remove the two silver ball bearings and use the ones from the machine. Beats buying the original ones at around $90 bucks each.Again I would probably not buy them again, but cannot ask more for 2 of them for 15 bucks. It will work on Case 60xt or other XT skidsteer models BUT it’s not a very appropriate part. I would be 50-50 on reconending you buy it for the skidsteer.

Unbelievably cheap hardware
I recently built a concealment box out of walnut and cherry. I wanted to hang it on the wall like a vanity and have the lid stay open so I bought this product. I followed the instructions to a tee and they worked like a charm on the first try. I was excited until I went to go do some finish work on the box. Someone the clip failed after only 2 times opening. This caused the cylinder to blast itself into the upper part of my cabinet, destroying some very expensive walnut along the way. I can’t believe how cheap the hardware was. Will this open a heavy lid and keep it open? Yes. Will you constantly be playing a guessing game of when the hardware will fail and what it will destroy? Also yes. Do yourself a favor, buy elsewhere.

Mounting brackets need to be stronger.
We have purchased, 3 sets of these struts for a few projects. The strut functions well but the mounting hardware is not the best quality. On all 3 sets, the small bracket has bent. All have bent to the point that the top of the strut is touching the bracket and will not allow it to bend any further. They are placed on a 1" thick wood lid that is 24" x 36" so the weight is minimal. Better brackets would make these 5 star.

Apexstone 200N/45LB Gas Struts
These struts are awesome if you know what you are getting into and highly recommended if you know what you're doing. As others have stated, they do not come with instructions but every lid is a different size and weight- so standard placement instructions wouldn't work anyway. I used one on each side of my storage container, the lid weighs approx. 40lbs and these struts have no problem doing the job. If you aren't handy, hire someone who is or grab a buddy who is and some beers. I'm not being a jerk, just trying to save you some frustration.
