HoMedics Envirascape Gentle Rains Illuminated Rainforest Fountain with Six Sounds Sound Machine

Hi - I sent this as a gift for Fathers day, so I haven't physically seen the product - BUT - MY MOTHER SAYS - its elegant, especially enjoying the illumination behind the waterfall and 'track 4 - the Loons'. She states 'calming, soothing'. She had a dinner party that evening and many were in awe and asked where it was purchased from. - so - indirectily 'I recommend".

I can't say enough good things about this item. My daughter-in-law has one and I've wanted one ever since I saw (and heard) hers. So I bought myself one and when my mother-in-law saw it, she had to have one for herself and one to send to her sister. So she had me order these two on my Amazon account. You wouldn't think a little box could pack so much atmosphere into your room, but it really does. The loons are my favorite sound, they drive my husband crazy but he loves the thunder. My mother-in-law loves the birdsounds and leaves it on day and night for its soothing effect. The first night we had this thing we put it on thunder and fell asleep on the couches where we slept like babies all night long. Get one of these, turn off the lights and enjoy the lights as well -- you'd think the lighted colored rain effect would be kind of cheesy but it's just so cool. The summer night setting reminds me of being in the Blue Bayou Restaurant adjacent to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Can you tell I like my Rainforest Fountain? Get one. You must experience this.

I bought this to replace a broken Brookstone sound machine. First off it is bigger than I anticipated and it uses water. The information presented does not state it needs water. I wouldn't have bought it had it said "you must add water". There is no way to turn off the water part (which means you need water for the electronic sounds) It needs to be cleaned all the time (even using distilled water). The electronic sounds do not seem as real to me as the Brookstone one did. Wave cycles too fast, etc. For the cost of RAM these days you would think they could have a sound loop longer than a second or so. The Brookstone one was about 7 seconds for a sound loop and you had to listen carefully to hear the replete. Not bad considering I purchased the Brookstone unit in 1996. No so with this unit.

I bought two of these fountains. One works great and the other has problems with the water flow. It seems as though the pump is not strong enough. The sound is very crisp and beautiful and the color changing feature is also very nice.

So soothing

This machine is far more than we expected. It is very soothing and there are many variables. This has been a wonderful purchase for us.

I have this in my bedroom and I drift off to sleep every night to it. Its GREAT!

This fountain truly is soothing. The waterfall and the different sounds available help me relax. The light feature illuminates the water falling over the natural river rock. When the world brings me stress, I go to my "relaxation room" which consists of my recliner and this fountain. After a few minutes, I either fall asleep or feel calm enough to face the world. I use only distilled water with this product. I've had many compliments on this fountain and it's disappointing that it's not available. Dear Homedics, Please bring it back.
