It's soap. We are told that if you wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds you will kill most if not all of any bacteria. My opinion is you do not need alcohol to be safe after waking your hands . Hope this helps.

They come in an already protected box of 4 bottles.

Has the packaging been updated? Reading the reviews has me nervous I'll just receive a gooey box full of broken glass shards.

Does Newport hand soap make refill packs for their glass containers

I am not sure of that but to me they are just use and dispose products and when done I purchase more. I just bought four more bottles today. Great product.
