Do these become soft with washing? My grandson will only wear very soft pants.

My son is autistic, so he is only comfortable in soft feel clothing. He LOVES children's place clothing. He wears their skinny chinos all the time. Of course, if you dry ANY clothes on high heat, they will either get stiffer and rougher because it's burning your fabric. You clothes get brittle and last for a lot less time. You should dry ALL laundry on low or medium heat. They come out softer overall. Also, don't use starch or bleach if you want your clothes soft and long lasting. Not an expert on clothes washing, just worked at a dry/ wet cleaners for a while. The owner always complained about people asking for starch, always fussing that if people stopped using starch, bleach, and allowed for drying their clothes on low, they wouldn't be coming back to her saying their clothes were falling apart. It's a recipe for uncomfortable, dry rotting clothes. TL;DR They are soft enough for my sensory sensitive autistic son to love them. Of course, I dry all my clothes on low or meduim, which softens clothes naturally and keeps them from getting burnt and brittle like with high heat.

Difference in standard, slim and husky? Is standard and slim 1 pant and husky is another or all 3 in q and the waistband make the difference

It really does. It's not a huge difference, but in younger kids, it's important because they are always growing. If your little one is on the slimmer side, get the slim, and if they tend to be kind of chunky, don't be embarrassed, it's still baby fat unless it's excessive. Just buy the husky. If your baby is neither of these, just get the standard. Or if you have a kid that goes through big growth spurts often, maybe consider getting the husky and buying a belt, so that they have room to grow and you save money in the long run.

Skinny is too skinny in waist

No matter how I adjust regular pants for my son, they are always to big even in the max, so I was glad to see these had skinny option. Problem is that these are so skinny that closing the fly button requires an effort even for me, and my son cannot handle it himself at all.Rather than that quality is great and pants look neat and dressy, my son is ~38lbs, 115cm and size 6 has enough length to last few months at this stage.
