Sirdar Alpine, Luxe Faux Fur Yarn, Lynx (404), 50g

I used the Sirdar pattern 8282 for their Teddy Bear coat which was recommended for that yarn and the yarn requirements were accurate. As you can see from the finished result, it produced a very nice effect. I chose a Chinese style frog fastening to finish it off with, instead of the press fasteners indicated in the pattern. My only criticism is that some of the colour came out on my hands as I was knitting, but I did choose the Panther colour and my hands got very sweaty because of the hot weather. My other criticism is that I couldn't always find the end of the yarn when starting a new ball and there were a number of unexpected knots in the yarn as I was knitting!

It's lovely and soft but hard to work with. You'll need to be good at finding your stitching without being able to see them.It doesn't like to be turned in to a pom pom, it sheds like a long haired cat and leaves rough ends.It's expensive for 100% polyester, and only 50g at that, £3.50 (£70 per kilogram) at time of ordering.I won't be buying this yarn again, it's hard to work with, doesn't feel like it would wear well (sheds) and would be very expensive to make anything in an adult size.

I was using this wool to replace my Golly's hair. He's over 50 years old!He's had alot of repairs, including washing, re-stuffing and new hair.Just perfect for what I needed.

The wool is gorgeous I love it, it's so soft I can't stop stroking it. It took me a while to get used to it as I've never used it before but it looks amazing once knitted.

Beautiful wool and lovely to knit with. Soft and cuddly for a panda. Arrived befor time. Very speedy. Very pleased
