Company backs their product
I use this battery as a backup in a Greenworks blower. I really like it since it is lighter than the OEM battery at a great price. After 2 months, the battery started dying after 5 minutes of use. Additionally, during charge my charger was blinking red, which indicates a bad cell. It was beyond the 30 day return window for Amazon. I was prepared to write a bad review. However, I reached out to the company and got a fast response. They asked a few questions about my use and then shipped me a new battery. Here are some things that I have learned. A blower has variable draw on the battery -- stop/start/stop/start as I am blowing areas and then walking to other areas. This shortens the life of the charge. I am sure there is a lithium battery expert that can explain why. I get longer life from the battery if I set the trigger to always on -- even while walking to another area. I found this to be true of the OEM battery as well. Bottom line: the new battery is working well and makes a great backup.

Great battery!
This is a great battery! Highly recommend this purchase! I bought it to use with my lawnmower! Great battery! Great purchase! Holds a charge, 35-40 minutes on my lawnmower, very pleased, make sure to snap the batteries in to the charger and the lawnmower properly, they do take awhile to reach a full charge, be patient and give them time, once charged they work great!

Defective release latch, but satisfied with function and durability
Ordered two Greenworks 40V 5.0 Ah batteries to replace original 40V 3.5 Ah batteries that seem to be nearing end of life. These are used with 18” chain saw, 10” pole saw, and string trimmer. There was no internal padding in the Amazon box the two 40V 5.0 Ah batteries were shipped in. Inside the box the batteries were only in blue plastic bags. So the batteries were free to bang into each other and the sides of the box. But there was no visible external damage on the box or on the batteries when unpacked. The release latch on one of the batteries would not depress until a lot of force was used and then it snapped down and stayed stuck in the fully pressed state until played with until it came back up. Noticed that the latch was not quite centered in the battery case. The latch still did not depress using moderate force. Immediately arraigned to return this unit. Put the returned battery in a generous amount of bubble wrap to prevent it from moving inside the shipping box. The latch on the other battery works and operates with about the same force as the older Greenworks batteries. Charged it using original Greenworks charger without any problem. Verified it fits and works in the 18” chainsaw. I do not want to rate this product too low since I am satisfied with its function and durability. But I do have to deduct a half-star for the Amazon packaging. And another half-star for the unit with the defective release latch. If the product were assembled in a high-labor cost area the final assembly would have included a robotic inspection station where the latch operation would have been tested for functionality and the operating force measured to verify it was to specification. Since it was assembled in a low-cost labor area the final assembly inspection was likely performed manually where an inattentive or tired worker could miss detecting this defect.

More powerful battery, great sale price
I've had several of the 40V Greenworks tools from when they were the only line they made. So I have several of the original batteries which are smaller (2.5Ah and 3.0Ah). When I purchased the mower it came with a newer 5.0Ah battery which was great. But my yard is big enough that I can't get a full cut (particularly if it is longer or has leaves on it) on just the one battery. And the older small ones barely do anything. I would have liked another 5.0Ah battery but they are expensive. This one was on sale for Black Friday for a great price.

Works great
Got this battery for a Greenworks snow blower. The battery is just like the one that came with the snow blower and it works great. I use the snow blower mainly for cleaning snow off of our deck and thought an extra battery wouldn't hurt to have on hand. I would recommend this battery

work great, until they dont. then you have to pay more than the price of a mower to get new ones.
this is exactly the reason i'm going back to gas mowers. i bought my greenworks mower a little over 3 years ago. it came with one battery, but to finish my entire yard in one go, i had to buy a second battery that cost almost as much as buying the mower. now three summers worth of mowing have passed and those two batteries are starting to become useless. they will 'charge' to full but only run for a matter of minutes. the battery indicators will still show as full but if you keep trying to start it up, the mower will just spin up briefly and die, as if i was trying to use a totally empty battery. i made the stupid decision to buy one more battery, thinking i could finish my yard with the two 'weakened' batteries and one new one. but i cant even do that. the two weakened batteries basically dont hold a charge AT ALL. they've gone from not lasting long enough, to not lasting AT ALL. and oh how convenient it is, that they fail almost exactly as the manufacturer's warranty expires. typical. anyways, if two batteries can carry me through for three years, MAYBE it would be worth replacing the batteries. but no, the ones i had to buy were over a hundred bucks each and apparently the price has just recently jumped to nearly $180?!?! forget it. it's a shame, really. sure, there are inconveniences with using the batteries but i really did prefer to go electric. but this is "color printer ink" levels of price gouging and i'm not going to feed into it anymore.

Keeps My Mower Batteries Ready to Go
I just use this charger for my Greenworks mower, and I love it. I have two batteries, so being able to charge both at once is a huge win. It’s fast, efficient, and way better than waiting around with a single-port charger. The dual port setup means I’m always ready to mow without delays. If you’ve got multiple batteries, this charger is absolutely worth it.

Delivered today 17/4/25. Dedicated greenworks battery charger exploded and gave out acrid smoke. Now I don’t know if my greenworks battery may now be damaged as well!
