Good sound and portability.
For its size, this system offers great sound and power. Very portable, the storage space for the cables is a plus. The mixing board has its limitations, is pretty basic, however, does what is supposed to do. The bluetooth is great and easy to set up. Sounds great indoors and outdoors. Make no mistake, this is no 15 inch; - 1000w loud speaker, and to get the most out of this system you need a subwoofer. I paired it with a Bose F1 sub, and have no complaints: it's loud and clear. I would guess this is perfect for events up to 50 maybe 75 people. Reliability... I guess is too early to tell. Update.... issues with the locking system (the speakers don't stay together all the time) however... an additional strap/bungee cord could fix the problem. Update 04-15-2020 - Upgrade from 4 to 5 star "minus" system still works well, great quality. Update 04-25-2022 - system still works great Update 07-01-2023 - I use a 12" Alto sub (approximately 300w) and it still works fantastic. The speakers took a fall or two since I bought them. Never had any issues. Update 04-03-2024 - light usage, and still works. When compared to other systems, it seems like the bass output towards the subwoofer is somewhat on the weaker side... However, after about 6 years it still works and sounds good.

Great for multiple uses.
This is a great all in one product, I really dig the sound quality. Honestly this sounds as good as my Sennheiser headphones that use a decent DAC. Disadvantages: 1) Not as loud or full as a bigger PA speaker. 2) Not a wireless portable speaker. 3) Needs a powered subwoofer to really kick more expensive systems. Advantages: 1) Decent mixing options on 8 ch: mono, stereo and Bluetooth. 2) Great volume for an 8 inch driver. 121 db is the same as the tops of an L1 line array. 3) decent bass frequency for an 8 inch (still prefer with sub). 4) Has a switching sub crossover so basically if you plug an active (powered) sub into it, it won't play the lows through the main driver and the mids sounds better. A 300w sub basically makes this speaker like a full L1 system for a decent amount less money. 5) Decent audio quality. 6) speakers are extremely light so putting them on stands is easy. 7) Phantom power and high z for guitar (not all channels, also with a guitar you should mic up the guitar or amp box of it is electric as this is a flat amp and guitar doesn't sound as good as a git amp).

JBL puts out great sound!!!!
I love the size, the way the speakers connect to the amplifier and the cost wasn't bad.

Really Good. Easy to set up super light weight.
I have played music for a long time. From punk houses to theatres. We got this guy for our wedding and it worked great. It's light weight and simple to install. Comes with 1/4" cables as well. We didn't use the mic as had some wireless ones but everything was crystal clear clarity. Bluetooth was easy to set up. Playback of music was easy to dial in. Got really loud. I got this on a sale for $600 I believe on here. It was totally worth that much money. We've used it a few times since when entertaining folks. It's really easy to set up. I wish I had this back in the day. I remember lugging some huge PAs around.

Mostly great but one big flaw.
I'd love to give this PA system 4, even 5 stars, but frankly it doesn't deserve it. And depending on your planned usage, it may not even deserve 3 stars. I'll explain. Minor Quibbles: JBL seems to have adopted Apple's approach of "It's so easy to use you don't need a manual" -- and so, they don't include one. Not a huge deal, and you can find a User Guide on the JBL website, but come on, JBL, you couldn't include a measly 16-page manual? On the other hand, there are errors in the manual -- it misidentifies the sub-woofer output and Channel 7/8 inputs as RCA-plugs when they're actually 1/4" TRS and two 1/4" TS receptacles respectively. Maybe omitting a manual with bad information is a good thing. The Bluetooth input works well, though there is no volume control for that channel. The Master Volume level will adjust it, of course, but if you want to mix a Mic input with the Bluetooth, you'll have to adjust the volume level at the Bluetooth source device (phone, laptop, etc.). Bluetooth pairing is straightforward -- just press the "Bluetooth Pair" button. The range seems decent but not exceptional. The Good: The sound quality is terrific for the unit's price point. I mean, these aren't the greatest speakers on the planet, but they sound very, very good, particularly if you get them off the floor. The Bass/Treble/Reverb controls work well. The controls feel good, the layout is clean. The unit packs up neatly. Latches are secure. There's plenty of built-in storage for mics and cables. It has Monitor/Line-Out capabilities. It has Sub-woofer Out. It has Headphone out. I really want to love this unit... The Bad: The pre-amp circuits on all 4 mic channels are pathetic. Using either the included AKG vocal mic and its cable, or a Shure SM-58 with Shure cable, I have to crank the Mic level to Max and the Master Level to 75% to get a comfortable listening level in a 20x20 room. If I want to mix that with tracks from a laptop or what-have-you, I have to set that input very low, and it's difficult to balance levels when you're working within one degree on the Volume Level knob. I thought perhaps there was a problem with my unit so I called JBL Tech Support, They confirmed this is a frequent complaint with the EON208P. They also suggested trying a few really cheap mics as they're often "hotter". How nice. Is there a work-around? Of course. Buy an external Mic pre-amp. Which is what I did (a BEHRINGER TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC200 works well but it's only one channel). Problem solved for an extra $50. Am I happy that I had to do that? Resoundingly, no. The EON208P product manager should be ashamed. So should JBL. In all other respects, it's a great unit, and there's nothing else on the market with the same feature set at anywhere near the price point so spending an extra $50 made sense for me. Of course, if you need 4 mics at once, then the pre-amps add $200 and maybe the EON208P isn't such a good fit.

Great system for small-medium sized venues
We used this system for an outdoor wedding with 120+ people in attendance. The sound of the mics and the music were both clear and had plenty of power for all to enjoy. We added a passive subwoofer to round out the sound with low end bass and a couple of portable speaker stands to keep the speakers elevated. I highly recommend this system!!

Received and installed in our medium sized Church yesterday. Sound level is pretty high and quality is amazing. May be a little more mic lines [6 in place of 4] may have been better but still it has almost everything required in a PA System and basically do not need anything else with it [may be additional mixture may be installed to get additional mic lines] otherwise its just about perfect and quite powerful peace of equipment and is able to handle everything from bass, treble and mids very well. Great job JBL for such equipment and amazon for providing great price and support [MRP on box is around 1.10 Lac and costed me around 43k after additional card discount]. Loving and enjoying it..if you can add tripod stands and good mics with it then it becomes a complete and balanced solution. [not small by any means]..

Ich habe leider ein defektes Gerät bekommen, was sich gar nicht einschalten lässt. Einen Ersatz gibt es nur für 550 € mehr. Wer ist dafür zuständig es zu reparieren?

WHY is this being listed as available to be sold in the UK when it does not work/incompatible with UK plug socket? It will simply blow! THIS ITEM SHOULD NOT BE SOLD TO THOSE LIVING IN THE UK. The power lead is incompatible (a US kettle lead/plug). After speaking with the manufacturer and technical team they advised that if you try to plug this in in the UK it will blow!!! Amazon, you need to remove from selling in UK
