Excellent starter bow
My very first Compound bow. Easy to assemble and adjust. Great for hunting and target shooting. Although the arrows did come with their veins a bit bent, that doesn’t affect much. The only other downside is that the bipod is very flimsy and the release is really uncomfortable after a long time.

Do not let the words "Beginner Package" dissuade you from purchasing this bow.
Sorry in advance for the long review, but I am enjoying this bow and you may also.Do not let the words "Beginner Package" in the ‘color’ selection dissuade you from purchasing this bow. This is a bow that is an extremely capable bow and can be used by a beginner to an advanced user. I do agree with the word “beginner” as this is a bow you can start out with and grow into and customize to your liking.I had been looking for a decent and affordable bow for some time and read lots of reviews and watched lots of YouTube videos. All the compound bows meeting my criteria came in around $399 to $499 price range, some of them with dated technology as they have been on the market for years. While at my local archery store, in their indoor archery range, I almost purchased one of those bows. Back at home I watched some more YouTube reviews and came across a couple showing the Dragon X8. At first, I was skeptical but watching several videos on YouTube and reading the Amazon reviews I was convinced, the Dragon X8 was the bow for me.Now that I own it and have been shooting it for a while, I am glad I waited and purchased the Dragon X8 and saved over $200. It shoots every bit as nice as the bows twice the price. The only difference is the other bows have vibration dampening on the limbs and the string and the Dragon X8 has none, so the more expensive ones are slightly quieter. This can be easily fixed and is subjective. My bow with a cell phone in my shirt pocket tops out at 115dB. I added some TwistLox split limb dampeners that reduced it down to 110dB. Other archers near me said the bow sounded quiet to them, but I think I will add some string silencers to make it even quieter eliminating the sharp but short-lived ‘twang’ from the string. Some things that make the Dragon X8 stand out; it has a dual yoke cam system to help prevent cam lean and the draw length and draw weight is easily adjustable. In addition, you do not need a bow press to work on the bow like swapping out the peep sight, add string silencers or other adjustments that can only be done without the bow under tension. Merely use the supplied hex wrench to adjust the limb tension down to nothing. It is straightforward to assemble and install all the accessories, set the draw length, and draw weight. Note: you will need to download the instruction manual at SanlidaOutdor.com. If you have questions on how to tune the bow there are excellent videos by Sean's Outdoor Adventures channel on YouTube that will help.Comes with 5 pin sight that works quite well, a hostage arrow rest, D-loop, and peep sight already installed. Buy it for the bow and if you are just starting out in archery the accessories are a bonus and allow this bow to be usable out of the box. Well... almost, it does not come with arrows or a release so make sure to order those separately. They do provide hex wrenches for all the components of the bow. This bow is a great platform to be customized to your needs.Note: the sight illuminates, before you put the light onto the 5 pin sight you need to open the battery compartment and remove a clear plastic disc at the bottom of the battery holder that prevents the light from turning on during shipping. If you are an archery veteran looking to upgrade to a modern high-performance split Limb dual cam compound bow; do not let the affordable price scare you off. Buy it and add on your high-performance accessories from your old bow to this one. You will be hard-pressed to find new or used bare-bones (no accessories) compound bow this good for the price. For those of you concerned about customer service from a manufacturer based in China, they have been very responsive to my emails and questions on their product. The bow I received had an issue with the peep sight. Using the email provided on a customer satisfaction card that comes with the bow, I reached out to Sanlida Archery. I was informed that I received a bow with an early production peep sight that has since been updated, "... we have changed the peep sights for the future shipments..." Sanlida Archery was prompt and courteous in their responses to me and quickly resolved my peep sight issue to my satisfaction. From my experience with them, I would say they care about their customers and stand behind their product. This bow was well worth the price, very easy to set up, and one of few you can back off tension and unstring without a press. And no, I am not with Sanlida Archery and they did not pay me for this review. Just wanted to share my experience on a product that has great value for the price.

What my fiance replaced our quality time with lol
the title is a joke, sort of lolI, myself, don't know how to use these well but my fiance is a pro and absolutely LOVES the one I surprised him with! He swears it's very durable and he's ordered a billion attachments like a scope and green beam lasers, etc and goes out to the yard every evening after work to blow off some steam and THEN gives me attention but the bow comes first lol

ABSOLUTELY FANTASIC BOW!
Only reason I'm giving this bow 4 stars is because I've almost replaced everything that came with it. The 4 star is not anything to do with the bow itself the bow is 5 stars! I've owned this bow for 3 years now and am rewriting my review to give it the justice it deserves. Ive shot this bow everday at 29 inch draw and set to 70 pounds 100 arrows a day with absolutely zero problems. I wished they would sell the bow itself and let you customize it how you want. First I got rid of the arrow rest that came with it. ITS JUNK! I replaced it with a drop away string driven rest that I found here on amazon. Added a rubber ledge pad to hold nocked arrows with no noise also found here on amazon. Second I made my own hand sling out of black paracord custom to my hand size. Third I bought self adhesive camo wrap to wrap my handle with to provide some comfort and better grip on the bow handle and to give a little bit of warmth to a metal handle for hunting. It also reduced some of the vibration of the bow. Added some of the wrap to my arrow rest to reduce noise and camo it a little better. It makes no noise now when drawn and is a very smooth draw cycle. Forth I got rid of the horrible blue and black fletched arrows that came with it. There too flexible and light to be shot at 70 pounds and everyone of the nocks broke at 70 pound. They are not a good match for the bow because of the weight and flexibility. The energy that should be going into the arrow does not and instead is going into the bow itself VERY BAD FOR BOW! I now shoot carbon express terminator hunters 55-70 arrows found at Walmart for $9.97 a arrow and cut them down to the length I need with a hack saw and a little sand paper to flatten it out level. I take a small hand torch and heat the end of the arrow to loosen the glue and remove the insert to glue into my cut arrow and glue with 1,000 pound crazy glue. I also replaced the nocks on those as well with lighted nocks I bought here on Amazon for $14 for 6. Fifth I bought limb saver dampeners from here on amazon as well as monkey tail string dampeners. I kept the original sight that came with the bow I see no need to replace it, it works well I can shoot dime size dots on my arrow stop. Sixth I'm currently ordering a camo 5 inch stabilizer from here on amazon that actually has weights in it for better balance. The one that comes with it has no weights in it and is more a dampener than stabilizer. I've kept the arrow quiver that came with it works great. I did buy a new release just because i wanted a better quality release but the one that came with it never misfired on me and I shot 1,000's of arrows with it. You will have to build your bow yourself and learn how to properly tune it for accuracy. There are many videos on youtube to teach you how to do it. The reason I love this bow so much is because you don't need to give your money to a con bow shop to work on it. You can replace the strings yourself with out a bow press if you back the limb screws out evenly on both sides of the bow down to zero pounds and the strings will come off easy and than you can replace them with strings from here on amazon for $29. The strings that came with it I've had since I've bought the bow 3 years old and all I do is wax them every 4-5 shooting sessions. If you replace the strings you will have to learn how to properly tie in a peep sight NOT HARD and how to tie a d-loop NOT HARD plenty of videos on youtube to walk you through the process. Check your screws on the bow every 4-5 shooting sessions just for peace of mind and to insure no bow damage. Never have had them back out but its just a preventive so you never need a bow shop. I absolutely do not regret any of the money I've spent on the bow and accessories I've bought for it. This bow is fantastic it's one of my favorite purchases yet. If your on the fence about buying it don't be but you will have to do some learning youtube has helped me every step of the way. I went from never having shot a compound bow to being in love with archery and a fantastic shot now that I've learned what I needed to from youtube. This bow if taken care of properly will last and work flawlessly for you. I'm finally confident enough in my shooting abilities and gear to go bow hunting now. This bow is not a cheaply made bow and has plenty of power it will give you a accurate shot that will pass cleanly threw a deer. Hope this helps any future buyers in the right direction of what to replace and what you can expect from this bow. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOW AND WILL BUY AGAIN IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MINE! All the photos your seeing of exploded bows are from the geniuses that dry fired or did not properly nock a arrow in the bow or they are using the arrows provided in the kit. Do not use the arrows that come with the bow your basically dry firing the bow with the wrong arrows. They did it to themselves but wont admit it because they want there money back from there mistake. NEVER EVER DRY FIRE YOUR BOW FOR ANY REASON IF AN ARROW FALLS AWAY LET THE BOW BACK DOWN DO NOT FIRE! Good luck future hunters/archers!

Great bow at a great price.
Just starting, or starting over, this bow at this price point is the way to go. This bow would also be great as a full time hunting bow. At 78 years with young grand children showing an interest I decided to get this bow. I had a Genesis bow on hand to start them on, if they stay interested I will pass this bow to them. Had this bow up and shooting in few minutes, I highly recommend if your looking for a decent compound bow.

Great bow
Im new to archery. This is my first bow and let me tell you I'm addicted now. Hitting targets from 70 yards no problem. I highly recommend you go to an archery shop with this bow and have them set you up right and show you how to use it. It was a huge help for me.
