How stiff are the bristles? ...I need for brushing upholstery on outside chairs

I bought the brush for someone else (for my in-laws), so that they could brush pine pollen off their patio (rattan) chairs in South Carolina, so I don't have the brush at hand and thus can't really help you, I'm afraid. As a counter brush, I would expect it to have fairly soft bristles; counter brushes are really for cleaning off sawdust and the like from counters, tools, etc. Stiff bristles would leave a lot of dust behind.
