Great chain. You cannot go wrong purchasing genuine Shimano or Sram components. Ever.

I matched it to the Shimino Tiagra derailer. Earlier, I tried matching a KMC chain but it did not run smooth at all and was choppy, so I replaced it replaced with this two weeks later and it is excellent. I ordered a KMC reuseable masterlink or you can use the included pin to close the loop - that may be more for a professional if you’ve never done before. UPDATE: I got 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) of all-season hard riding and it ran flawlessly. No skipping, no chopping. Just smooth shifting and no noise. I give it a good 10-minute cleaning every other week and use Rock N' Roll Gold (but only drip one drop per link after each cleaning (not dousing it :-)

I got this to go with a replacement cassette for an older mountain bike I didn’t want to spend too much money on but enough to keep it running. The chain has worked out well, the performance has been working out well , I have not had any slipping or over stretching and it’s held up under uphill climbing. The installation was not difficult if you have done chain replacements before, you just need to make sure the length is right and not over push out the peg. Best to play around with the old one until you feel comfortable with doing it, then work with the new chain.

I normally get the ultegra chain, but bought this in a pinch. Idk what's going on but the spacing doesn't seem to be exact. The chain is making a grinding noise and isn't lining up with my front casset teeth well. And frequently falls off when I do sprints. I lubricate it frequently and helps a little. My cassette is fairly new (about 2 years old) so I think it's the chain. Idk if this is a frequent thing or if my cassette just wore down quickly.

Seemed good but too short for my 1 by 10 with an extended derailleur hanger so had to return
