Basic Math in 15 Minutes a Day: Junior Skill Builder

My daughter has ADHD and High functioning Autism and she loves this book. She works with this book and a tutor each week using the system in the book and she only says good things about it.

I love this book, 1st got it at the library, but I was doing so well in learning (all over again after all these years) that I had to buy it to take my time and learn.Highly Recommend for anyone who needs to know math!

Homeschooling family and this was a great supplement for our son. Especially those weeks when life was a bit chaotic and school cannot take a back seat ;)!!

I'm a music teacher who was asked to teach a basic middle school math class, and bought this book to refresh my math skills. It is well written, and does a nice job of introducing basic math skills up to pre Algebra.

I found very little worth in this practice book. It does contain lessons and practice problems, but without an answer key, how do you verify that you have correctly solved the problem?The cover says,"Pinpoint your weaknesses!"Um, how about BASIC MATH?!?"Track your progress!"Okay, just how do you propose I do that when I can't be sure that I have arrived at the correct answer?"Parents! Brush up on your own homework-helper skills!"Sure, let me get right on that! Okay, I read the lesson, worked the problem, and wait! I have no idea if I got it right or not!If mastery of every math lesson was just a question of an explanation and a practice problem, then why would we need twelve years of it just to get through high school? Why not just present a lesson, work through a couple of problems, and then move right along. If it worked like that, then we'd all be in calculus by fifth grade.I didn't buy this book searching for a panacea, but I did expect a lesson, some practice, and then some verification as to whether or not I actually understood the concepts that I was trying to apply. Without that critical last component, I run the risk of reinforcing incorrect processes.

I tutor a 9th grader in Math and this book is a Godsend! It goes over all of the basics in an organized format that is easy to understand. I look it over and refresh myself before teaching my sessions. It really helps me do my job!

This book is simple to use, easy to understand and has alot of helpful information. It was what we needed for our 6th grader.

This has the basic practice but the formatbis very boring, particularly as many children find visual examples aid their understanding. I bought it as it was recommended for a pupil I work with but he was not motivated by it at all.
