Derwent Graphitint Paint Pan Palette (12 Colours)

This graphitint pencils behave like sumi ink . They are versatile and very pigmented. I love using them with watercolors.

Full muted colors .fantastic when dry ,even good when apply water.if you want some mythical effects it's very useful.over all another innovative product from derwent..i got it for fantastic deal!!!

Love sketching with it if u like muted colors. Have bought 2 derwent sets and both were damaged on the cover. I didn’t return it though coz I was too impatient and wanted to start painting.

Colours are dull, spreads once dry .

Great pencils for drawing. They activate very well with water. However the result is not bright, it is a bit muted due to the graphite ingredient. Lovely for drawing though.

Os lápis são lindos. Chegaram com as pontas direitas e vieram embalados com um plástico-filme de forma a ficarem bem fixos no transporte.Ainda não os apontei para ver como se encontra por dentro mas fiquei bem satisfeita.

This is a very lovely set of muted colors. Two of the colors are very close to each other and possibly redundant as such. I would upload some swatches but doesn't seem to work.

I have been wanting to try these pans for awhile and the price dropped so I pulled the trigger. Overall, they are wonderful. They behave differently than watercolor and are more opaque, like gouache. The graphite settles into the paper, which is more noticeable with cold press than with smooth sketchbook paper and in the light the flecks of graphite add a subtle shimmer. I used them with a light application on a drawing in my Hahnemuhle watercolor sketchbook and more heavily on 100% cotton cold press watercolor block. In both instances they were lovely to work with and allowed focus on tone without the "distraction" of a huge range of colors. The muted colors are lovely for rendering sea birds. One reviewer commented that the green grey was too similar to the other colors, but I found a significant distinction between that shade and the other colors in the palette while painting and mixing with it. I was able to get the darkest tones with the steel blue straight out of the pan, but the range of colors when mixing was impressive. I think these are a great addition to pencil and look forward to sketching with them. Well worth the investment.

Glad I decided to try a different type of 'watercolor' pencil set. Can create sketches and paintings that are subdued in color. Interesting effects.
