Does this rust quickly? i also have a north country bell which does rust, but that is by design. wondering if this is the same.

No rust seen on mine. Probably been up for two years. Paint on it seems very good, no rust on welds, joints, edges, etc. Appears to maybe be a powder coat of some type. Very durable coating.

The Woodstock heroic medium states is 24.5 inches is that overall or tube also you state there is a large 40 inch is that the bell or overall also

Hi Ricardo - The Woodstock Heroic Windbell - Medium is 24 inches from the top of the hanging ring to the bottom of the windcatcher. The bell itself is 10.25" long and 4" in diameter. The Heroic Windbell - Large is 40" from the top of the hanging ring to the bottom of the windcatcher. The bell itself is 15.75" long and 6" in diameter. I hope this helps!

Is the foam on the clapper to be removed and, is it generally better to have as long a cord as possible?

YES, remove the foam; this is only packing material. I used an S-hook about 2ft in length rather than cording. I purchased it at Home Depot very reasonable price, weather resistant, just hooks over a limb in the tree. Our chime has been hanging in the church garden for almost a year and everyone loves the tone.
