I had a wrist and forearm brace which was helpful but it ended up in transferring the problem to my thumb. My purchase of the BraceAbility is recent so my opinion is limited. I noticed immediate pain relief from the BraceAbility brace. A plus is that the Velcro fasteners are well made(almost too well It seems when trying to undue them). The others I have tried tend to stretch and lose grip function. How well only time will tell. I have two concerns. The first is that the thumb portion is clumsy but it works. The second concern is the straps to tighten the wrist and forearm. They are what I consider too long. This adds to the sense that the brace, overall, is clumsy because it leaves long tails. Again this not take away from the function but it does take away from the overall satisfaction with the brace. However, all that is minor compared to the pain relief it provides. My pain levels were crippling and with the brace the level is greatly reduced. My problem will resolve within a matter of weeks so that the concerns I have are short lived.

I've had a wrist injury- issues, surgery, etc., for years, and have used several different braces. I ordered this one recently because I had some sort of tendonitis going on and needed the thumb splint. I wore it round the clock for about a month. It does the job; it immobilizes well. it's also the most comfortable brace I've ever owned, and is very soft on the inside. I would say it runs big. Based on their suggestion, the correct size for me was a large, so that's what I ordered, but I was just barely able to close the velcro straps because the brace was much too big. That being said, even though it was way too big, it still didn't shift much. With other braces I've used, I've had to readjust frequently throughout the day as it's shifted and the frame become uncomfortable. With this one, it didn't require any adjusting at all, even after waking in the morning. Definitely recommend.

I bought this brace this because I have tendency to lay on my right hand while I sleep. I was very excited to use it at night to provide me from laying on my hand and during the day with the residual pain. However, I noticed that the second metal splint (on the thumb) is missing. I’m unsure of why but it still works as needed. I don’t want to return it because I need it to prevent pain and I don’t want to have to wait for another. I do wonder what type of additional support it would be with the second metal splint.

My husband was informed he has DeQuerveins so I got him this splint to stabilize his wrist and thumb. It worked so well. He wore it until the thing started falling apart. That being said, he is a roofer and does service work and wore it nonstop to be able to work. This brace has been through A LOT and stood up to the test. Time to order a new one. Lol
