Nice fit for my big (25 in.) head. Warm and Cozy hat.
As a hat size 8, it's legitimately difficult for me to find hats that don't give me a headache. So, I am generally super skeptical whenever a brand says "One Size" with no sizing info. I was actually happy to see all those reviews mentioning how the hat is "way too big for a human" (paraphrasing), because that usually means it's just right for me. I'm not out here making this hat look cool or anything, but the hat itself does a very good job at exactly what it's designed to do. Taking the hat off reminds me how cold it actually is outside, but the hat also doesn't make me overheated. I got the black one because it goes with my coat, but I probably would have gotten a bright green one if they made them, in honor of our old friend Kyle Broflofski.

Great for wind blocking
Bought this to wear biking to work in the winter because hoods restricted my ability to turn my head for visibility. We have mostly dry winters - so can't vouch for snow but was great at protecting from wind at freezing and below. was definitely water resistant against light snow/rain. Large enough to fit over thick hair and even a bun. For extra protection I doubled up with a tight beanie on the coldest days. Probably too big if you don't have a lot of hair or have a smaller head. Stitching held up all through winter with daily use. Stayed tight through a 30 minute commute way better than a knit cap. Based on appearance of the fabric, I didn't machine wash - just hand washed in the sink and air dried. Kept it's shape and still looks new minus a little flattening of the faux fur.

Good, but dimensions are wonky.
The hat is nice. It feels sturdy enough, and it is plenty warm. I don't have to worry about getting fur in my eyes. But it has some strange dimensions. The hat is big enough that with my easter island sized skull I can fit another hat underneath it (which is a good thing, I always wear a baseball cap anyway), yet the mask is not long enough to clasp on both sides when worn. The back is also too long, causing it to shift forward when moving around a lot unless you put a hat on underneath to give it some height.

Great Buy!
Very comfortable and very warm. Will fit larger heads providing great protection from the wind and cold weather. For the price this is a great buy it’s very well constructed made with thick materials and should hold up to regular wear.

It is big to allow of wearing a balaclava underneath
There are many complaints posted that this ushanka is too large but it is set up for people either with a lot of hair to fold under it but primarily for wearing a balaclava underneath it. The faux fur trim over the eyes is as thick as it is to prevent windburns on one's eyebrows and to reduce glare from the snow and sky. The tiny over-ear flaps are to deal with incidental windburn issues with the basic design. Up, they address windburn over the ears, down they address windburn issues with the ears themselves AND those flaps hold your goggles in place when buttoned down. This is a minus 35 and below Fahrenheit ushanka for high wind chill factor environments not just a fashion statement. They get really warm fast. If you are a woman and the hat is still too large, find out what the koralya hairdo is all about. Russian female pilots during the Great Patriotic War donned a koralya underneath their very similar flight helmets to help hold them in place. (The koralya shows off your epic chin line too :>) Alternatively, buy a set of Cozyphones which is a set of headphones built into a winter headband: they will fit into this Read Deal head-warming hat. I cannot believe the sweet price but hey, this is Amazon so go figure.

Good, needs fixing
Looks good, has potential to keep head and face warm; major flaw: the chin flaps do not wrap the face tight. I took all the slack out of the buckle and it was still loose; that means cold air gets in easily, and for me, on my ebike going 20 mph, or someone who's skiing probably faster, it needs amending. In my case, I wrap a scarf tight around my chin, this seals the chin flaps. Sorry to say, the last one I bought on Amazon had the same flaw, so I've accepted that I have to do my own fix.

Great hat for Minnesota winters!
Absolutely LOVE it!!!!! Very attractive hat! I do have a larger head and often hats are too small. This one is not at all snug. I just bought two more! I clear snow on my Deere tractor and the snowblower can blast me. This will be a great protective hat for me to wear with my goggles.

Great for the Cold
Great product for the price. Love the trapper hat style but needed a something for my face so I immediately ordered this one when I came across it. Have worn it several times up in this North Dakota cold and it's great.
