By comparing this 'Urban' pen with my older 'Cross' fountain pen I can only surmise that Parker are further ahead with this technology - I found the quietly elegant appearence of the pen underlines a complex, 'ergonmically sound' design; I love the balance of the pen, the pen grip distance from the nib, the satisfying metallic weight of the pen (with the cap placed snugly at the end of the barrel) - all of which serve to support accurate, expressive and smooth writing. The superior (cf 'Cross') writing experience improves with the quality of the paper used, but this is a minor point for me as I had excellent results on both a 'pukka jotta pad' and my journal. The flow of ink through the fine nib is managed signicantly better than my outgoing 'Cross' fountain pen - the colour of the ink can now be better appreciated and the ink lasts longer, compartively. The fine nib provides a sharp, clean yet vivid writing experience with the stainless steel nib underpinning a smooth, free-flowing writing style. I clean my own regularly before refilling the cartridge, as such I rarely have a patchy ink flow experience. When I haven't used the open for several days I do have to press slightly (and I do mean slightly) harder to invigorate the ink flow, but once it starts flowing I haven't experienced any problems. In an age where we are remembering how to better protect our planet, a fountain pen makes sense. When I purchased the pen it was available at a modest discount, which gives an acceptable cost/performance ratio - for me. I use it with a dedicated, twist action, refillable cartridge and Parker's blue/black ink. I have updated this review (Dec 2020) after using the pen frequently over the past year. So far it's still proving to be a lovely experience and, when writing, I genuinely get a little thrillas I use my Parker Urban fountain pen. Heartily recommended, a year on.

Attractive looking. It feels balanced in the hand and ergonomically designed. It is well made. Unlike many pens I have had, I have not had any issues with the ink smudging, even when used with rulers to draw lines. Writing with it is a pleasant experience.

Feels right for speed writing, good balance, ink seems to write smoothly over most paper types. . Looks good when at meetings, not like the cheap plastic barrelled throwaways. Very satisfied.

Lovely to use

So far this is a beautiful pen. I originally bought the Jotter as I had one years ago but quickly realised they’re too thin for me so I went for this one. Parker has always been the name for affordable quality and they didn’t disappoint. This pen looks fantastic, writes wonderfully and has enough weight that it doesn’t require an awful lot of grip to write comfortably and I wrote a lot at the moment. I may even buy another just to have a spare. Definitely worth the money. It would be nice to be able to choose your ink colour though.

Parker Urban twist Ballpoint Pen in black with chrome trim is a real standout. It looks incredibly smart and feels just right in the hand—solid, well-balanced, and comfortable for extended writing. The ink flows smoothly, and the twist mechanism works with satisfying precision. It adds a touch of class to any desk or pocket and makes everyday writing feel just that bit more refined.

Slightly lighter than the older version of this pen but I do like the chunky grip of these style of pens. Looks smart and with a gel ink refill writes very smoothly. I have had this pen before but after a number of years it was slightly battered. This was a great replacement. Value for money: Good value for a branded pen that has a nice grip/feel when using. Weight: Slightly on the light side compared to the older versions but nice shape. Grip: I like a chunky pen to hold as a preference and this pen does that. Longevity: Not made of metal anymore compared to them older ones but as with any pen if you look after it then you shouldn't have any issues. Pen quality: Plastic construction but not flimsy in any way. Would have preferred it to be heavier but it is what it is. Functionality: No issues. Opening and closing the pen is smooth and haven't had any issues.

Seems a decent quality, comfortable to hold and writes well. Did not contain a refill as stated in the description, fortunately I purchased spare one separately.

Finitions parfaites sur ce stylo-plume. Le noir mat est très réussi. Son poids est bien équilibré. La plume semble excellente (mais non encore testée avec cartouche ou convertisseur, le vendeur ayant été pingre). Le capuchon ferme directement et progressivement en douceur avec un clic final caractéristique. Parker à la hauteur de sa réputation avec un stylo très agréable à prendre en main et qualitatif !

Por el precio que pagué me parece que fue una gran compra. La pluma parece mucho más cara. Sus terminados la hacen lucir como una pieza de gran calidad. Tiene sus detalles, como el clip, no me parece que sea muy resistente, pero por el precio que pagué no es problema. Es una pieza elegante que bien puede usarse diariamente, sus repuestos son baratos. Puede servir para regalo viene en una cajita de cartón, sencilla pero decente. Cabe señalar, es bolígrafo no es rollerball. Yo la compré pensando que era roller.

If you have only been using ball points you will need to get use to writing with a nib. Better but different
