Arrived perfect 12 cans to the box. No sooner delivered, I had it for dinner with Other antipasto meats & cheeses. Cento is a good brand, reminds me of the Progresso brand my Mom would buy when I was a kid.. Out of four children I was the only one that loved caponata! I would come home from school on a day that she did food shopping, she would yell out to me “I bought caponatina! “ Then we would plan which day her and I would sit and have it for lunch on sandwiches! Great memories!Now that I’m older, I usually make my own from scratch. These are handy when I don’t have the time. I wish Cento made a lower sodium version, but easy enough to do when I add more unsalted ingredients to these cans ( pignoli nuts, garbanzos, or cannellini beans.) You can also add more sautéed eggplant, cherry tomatoes , celery & olives if you like. Can heat and serve hot as a side dish or eat cold.

Once cheddar cheese is melted over the top of this appetizer (served hot,) it becomes a real treat. Without the cheese, it's a bit lackluster. If you've tried it and wondered what's missing -- it's the cheese.

Sent this as a gift to someone whose mom fed it to him when he was a kid. Although it arrived a couple of days late, he called to say he loved it, saying it tasted as delicious as he remembered

So delicious!! I can't make it any better. Fantastic price as well.

Very tasty and balanced between the sauce, olives and eggplant. I usually buy Cento products at the Italian deli, and this one is as good as the peppers, olives, etc. that they sell.
