A great alternative to the cone
I purchased this for my golden retriever to help with recovery after she was spayed. I measured and ordered according to the fit chart. The fit was perfect. The material is a soft and stretchy. It was easy to put on and works well when she goes out to do her business. Having this on protects her incision. It allows her to eat and drink normally. She sleeps more comfortably and isn’t banging into walls when she walks. She seems very comfortable wearing the outfit. A great improvement over the cone.

So much better than the cone
We ordered this suit for our golden doodle after he was neutered . He has been wearing it for 5 days. It was a replacement for one we had used when our previous dog had surgery and that one was too big. So far , it has worked great. It was super easy to fit over his head and rolls up nicely for his walks to go to bath room . Walton weighs 48 pounds. I tried the medium long first and it was too short. We ended up using the long extra long. The regular long might have worked too I did t measure his body), I did worry because I felt the material Was thin if he did lick, it would be wet through. Early after his surgery I put a waterproof gaze pad in between the layers just in case he did try to . You also have to make sure that you pull up the underneath part before you wrap around the straps with the joke for the tail. I’m glad I purchased it. Much better than the cone. Not sure why vets even continue to use that option , other than the price of the suit. We have about a 5-10 more days and I think it will hold up nicely . It’s soft and I’m sure washes. Nicely and so easy to put on.

BEST on the market!
This is such a great product, don’t look any further! -My dog needed to get a heart monitor for a week. I knew it’d be on her side, but I wasn’t sure exactly where, and if she’d be able to itch at it (was out over shaved fur, so I knew it’d get itchy). I purchased a few of these off amazon to see what worked the best. VET DESIGNED: -What made me order the item was it being designed by a vet. I was not disappointed! -A lot of staff at my vet office even asked where I found it, since it was the best one they’d ever seen. STRETCHABLE FIT: -this was probably the thing I liked the most about the shirt. It fits snug, and I didn’t have to worry about it being loose and wrinkling up on itself (which I figured would be uncomfortable for my dog to lay on, considering she’d have it on for a week straight) -the other shirts I ordered had that issue, they didn’t adjust/stretch for a snug fit. FABRIC: -this was a close 2nd to the stretchable fit. -It’s very lightweight and breathable. -This was another big difference from other dog surgery shirts I ordered off Amazon. -I knew she was as comfortable as possible since due to the fabric. -Granted the weather was cool and my dog doesn’t have thick fur, so I didn’t need to worry about her getting hot… but I can imagine for many dogs with thick fur, especially during summer temps, this shirt would keep them as cool as possible STRAPS AROUND LEGS: -First off, I should point out I left the straps out after the first few bathroom breaks. As her patch was still well covered as it was, so there wasn’t a benefit (for me) to use them. -They were easy to strap up/down though, so that wasn’t an issue. I can see how if your dog had area closer to abdomen of concern, or even after spay, these straps would come in handy for protection yet not be cumbersome for bathroom breaks. CUTE: -As an extra bonus, it looked really cute on her!

Velcro wears out quickly
Overall this is a great product. We purchased two suits for our puppies post spay surgery. The size according to the measurements on the chart were right on the money. The dogs have seemed comfortable in them and haven't seemed to need to try to kick the surgical sights. The Lycra type material moves with the dog well and has been remarkably tear and strain resistant. Unfortunately, it and the suit design are not easy to get on and off the dog. Definitely a two person job most of the time, even with a fairly mellow puppy. My only real complaint has been the Velcro on the rear flap which attaches to the back of the suit. The loop side (on the back) started failing on day 3. The flaps are under quite a bit of strain- particularly when the dog is sitting or laying curled up. The side straps have very small hook patches and the loop pad stopped holding them. Not enough surface friction under the strain. The flap covering the back loop patch is nearly worthless as designed. It would be better if it also had a large patch of hook material on the inside that would help relieve the strain on the side flaps. Overall, this has been a good product, the dogs did well with it and it is way better than the cone of shame. For the price it is a pretty good product. Fix the Velcro straps and this will be a 5 star product.

Vet-designed comfort and protection — no more cones of shame
The SurgiSnuggly was a lifesaver after our dog’s surgery. It’s thoughtfully designed by veterinary professionals, and it shows — the fit is snug but stretchy, giving our dog freedom to move while still fully protecting the surgical site. It stayed in place without rubbing or bunching, and the soft, breathable fabric kept our pup comfortable around the clock. Easy to put on, easy to clean, and so much more peaceful than a plastic cone. If you're looking for a veterinarian-trusted alternative to the e-collar, this is it. Our dog healed comfortably, and we had peace of mind the entire time.

Great suit for our big Great Dane!
This suit is perfect! My daughter has a 140# Great Dane & he was neutered & had gastropexy surgery 4 days ago. We wanted to give him a few breaks each day from wearing the cone. I had my doubts about this suit fitting him but decided to try the 2xl. The fit is great. The suit covers both incisions & the material is stretchy enough to not be constricting, while staying in place. Wearing the cone is very important when you can’t keep an eye on your dog & this suit is perfect when you want to give your dog a cone break. I’m a retired vet tech & highly recommend trying this suit!

Snugly e collar
A smart pup figured this out in short order and it was not effective in stopping the licking of his wound. Its good quality and no doubt works well on some dogs but it did not work for mine.

Used on 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Buy it!!
I bought the Medium-Long for my female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for her spay surgery. It allowed her to spend the recovery time out of a cone. She totally left her stitches alone while wearing this miracle garment. Not only that, every time she was out of her Surgi-Snuggly, she would try to scratch her stitches using her back legs. The cone did nothing to deter that. As soon as I put the Surgi-Snuggly on her, she would immediately leave her stitches alone and stop trying to scratch them with her back legs. She spent all day in this and slept in the suit at night and did not seem to mind it at all. It made her recovery time soooooo much better for her and for me. Then, my male Cav needed to be neutered and to have an umbilical hernia repaired. Out came the Surgi-Snuggly again. Although my female is more thickly built and she is a couple of pounds overweight, the same exact Surgi-Snuggly fit my long, lean male just fine. He also tries to scratch his tummy stitches with his back legs any time the Surgi-Snuggly is not on him. For him, as a male, I pull the Surgi-Snuggly up around his chest when I take him to potty to be sure he doesn’t pee on it. Again, the cone did nothing to handle him trying to scratch his stitches with his back legs. He did find a way to try to chew at his testicles (not his stitches, but his actual testicle skin) while in the Surgi-Snuggly. I think I hadn't pulled it on him tight enough. So now I pull it on more tight (but not too tight – the fabric is very stretchy). And I do put his cone on him to sleep at night to be extra safe. I put a disposable male diaper on him and then put the Surgi-Snuggly on over that. He doesn't mind any of it. He spends his days like that while he's recovering and it's working just as great for him as it did for my female. The velcro on the back flap is getting a little less "sticking" than it was when I first bought it, but considering how many times a day I undo it and redo it for him to potty (and did many times for my female), I'm extremely happy with this purchase. (And really, the undoing process is super easy and fast. It sounds complicated or like a pain, but it's really not bad.) This is a miraculous product that has allowed my dogs to calmly heal and feel relaxed and to LEAVE THEIR STITCHES ALONE!!! I would buy this again in a heartbeat and cannot rate it highly enough. Thank you! P.S. Photo of my female near the end of her healing wearing her purple Surgi-Snuggly with her harness over it and the leash still attached. After our short walk, she climbed right up on her bed and fell asleep before I took her leash and harness off. She was super comfy. 😊 EDITED to add 2 photos of our long and lean puppy in his Surgi-Suggly. This is what it looks like after daily use for about 2 1/2 weeks total between my two pups surgeries. I dried it today to help it shrink a little to fit my little guy better. Also, this is totally ideal for spay and keeping a female from her stitches. Also ideal for keeping him away from his hernia stitches. But I have to fasten the back tightly to be sure he can't reach his neuter stitches. Just to be safe, I put a cone on him for bedtime. TL;DR: Used Medium-Long on my female Cav (thickly built and a little overweight) for spay surgery and my male Cav (long and lean and skinny) for hernia repair and neuter surgery. Worked great for both. Prevents them from scratching tummy stitches with back legs. Didn’t need cone for female. Used cone at first with my male and then only overnight with my male to be extra safe. Surgi-Snuggly made both dogs relax and leave their stitches alone. Both wore Surgi-Snuggly constantly during recovery and seemed totally comfortable. As soon as it’s on, they leave their stitches alone. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! 😊
