I love these bottles! We use them for water but could be used for squash or iced tea. They have really good seals and are high quality.

Perfect size for making ginger beer as well got a very quick fermentation. Served it at Easter dinner, everyone loved it. I will recommend this product.

Anyone who is familiar with this type of bottle through drinking German or Dutch beers immediately knows what a commercial grade bottle is. 1. Heavy glass, able to stand a significant bump against a hard surface without shattering 2. Heavy retaining wire, able to keep strong pressure against stopper gasket, to prevent leakage under beverage pressure 3. Ceramic stopper, able to withstand high temperature without warping and repeated use wtihout wear I am happy to report that FINALLY I found a commercial-grade bottle at an affordable price, and will be buying many more of these! I did not intentionally "bump test" this bottle, but I am heavy handed, having worked in a commercial kitchen some years in my youth, where speed is important and some bumps are expected. So on first wash, I accidentally slipped (hot soapy water with bare hands on glass is after all slippery) and the bottle bounced against the edge of the granite counter top where it covers the under-bowl sink. Thankfully, THIS IS A COMMERCIAL GRADE BOTTLE, so it did not shatter to pieces like the last batch of "decorative grade" bottles I washed. The quality that made one customer give this product a low rating, "hard to operate" stopper, is precisely the quality I was looking for. A commercial grade bottle, designed to withstand the beverage pressure of beers and other carbonated or fermented products, DOES by design have a firm stopper retaining wire that requires more than 5 foot-pounds of pressure to operate. So, if you are looking for a bottle that you can use over and over, that will hold beverages under pressure without leaking, this is the one. If you are looking for a decorative product to sit on a shelf, most any bottle will do. Just be very careful while washing, because it will shatter to pieces with the slightest little bump, because the glass is engineered to be as thin as possible, to put the least amount of material into the product at the lowest cost. I used to wash out and keep Grolsch beer bottles back when I drank beverages with alcohol. The quality of that bottle was so good that I hated to throw them away. So instead, I would keep some filled with water and hand them out to guests for to-go bottles of water. If Grolsch can pass along the cost of a commercial bottle for disposal in their product, can't you afford a commercial grade bottle for your use? Product is well packed to arrive without breakage. They even included 4 spare stopper gaskets! Note that a standard 1 pint glass fits nicely on top of the bottle, which makes it easy to carry and serve. It occurred to me that some people may not know the correct way to open and close a wire bale stopper, so I made a short video showing how.
