Great update from Weller , sponge and water in plastic cannot compare with this, the silicone doesn’t burn and the brass cleans up the tip wonderfully, going to grab a second one for my bag

Weller is a known brand for soldering iron and accessories, I bought this cuz I saw some reviews on some similar product that the coil is not made of brass although the price is half compare to this Weller but I need a good quality and wont damage my soldering tip, other products seems fine if you have a generic cheap soldering iron but if you have an expensive iron or soldering station you need a good quality product. for the price is little high but overall recommend it.

Prefect to clean a hot tip. Keep it clean and you will get a lot more mileage from your tips.

Works well and is easier than using a sponge

This is the best brass sponge I've run across. The filaments of the brass sponge itself are finer than what I have previously been using, which means more surface area for cleaning the solder tip. One or two plunges of the soldering tip into the sponge and it looks great. The silicon holder is really cool, too. As this gets used it should be easy to pull out the sponge to rearrange it and stuff it back in. Great find!

Je cherchais ce genre d'outil pour nettoyer les petites pannes lorsque je soude des fils électriques en cuivre. Inévitablement, au cours des travaux, la panne se charge d'un excès de soudure. Un va-et-vient en tournant dans la masse métallique (à chaud) nettoie bien les pointes, même fines.

Cleaned my soldering tip after 6 years of usage, back to a refreshed state. Do not forget to use fresh tin in the tip before storage.
